The two circles represent both lionesses.   The Mhangeni is one of those 4 in the middle.

I’m not certain if this Mhangeni is one of two born to tailed or one of two born to tail less .    If she’s from tailed Tsalala she’s an older auntie.  If she’s from Tailess she’s an older cousin

Someone in the Othawa thread said the Manghenis lost a 18 months old cub this winter, is it true? I assume this is Othawa Male's last cub, is she dead?

Yes they did, but 1 still remains.

Still only 4 adult females (+1 in Singita).

When was the first time she started missing?

It is not the first time they're together.
So happy to see that these two could probably stick together!!

Not sure what happens to Tsalala when the Mangheni lioness dens. She won't be allowed near, and I don't know what will happen to the pair of them when she takes the cubs out of their den either. I wish they could join up for Tsalala's sake, and I doubt Mangheni will go back the Mangheni Pride with those cubs. But, it isn't like Mangheni have a big pride, and can afford to lose a member, so all of that is not in their best interest, but best interest, sadly, isn't always how things seem to work out, though it would likely be in the best interest of these two and the cub. All that said, through all the unknowns, I do hope it all works out as well my friend.

RE: Mangheni Pride - Duco Ndona - 08-06-2022

I think it depends on what happened in the Mhangeni pride for this lioness to suddenly prefer the company of the Tsalala lioness.

If nothing odd was going on, the Tsalala lioness would likely be abandoned later. Though with the whole situation with that singular cub and the core pride avoiding males. It cannot be ruled out that she feels forced to raise her litter on her own in PC male territory. The Tsalala lioness would then be a most welcome company even if she would be forced to flee when the PC males visit for a while.

Another weird option is that the Mhangeni pride becomes so scattered that the Tsalala lioness can use that to worm herself into the pride proper.

I like your possible outcomes above.
Let's see, I hope one of those becomes real and favors the Tsalala lioness.
When the Mhangeni is giving birth??

Let's hope and send positive vibes brother, so any outcome includes the Tsalala lioness finding friends!!
