Only in the latter your rivals are directly out to kill you as they are after the pride.

Skorro was only facing the first. And hes been for months now.

Ultimately what a male lion wants is the security of a pride.

Disagree.

1. Skorro Jr. and Othawas cant just retreat and give territory anymore, they have no territory left, western sector is not big area, and its fenced from 3 sides, NK/Nhenha already took big portion of their territory south and now PC males are pushing from the east.  Skorro Jr. and Othawas where trapped, from 2 sides, and they cant retreat anymore because behind them is fence, there is no way to go.

2. As i said, from Savanna vlogs, we can see that PC males are invading and activley after Othawas, so its not territorial dispute, yet takeover which will Othawas try to avoid because of sub.

But even without Skorro Ottawas are still trapped.

They are, from now on its long "hiding" game from them, avoiding PC and NK/Nhenha males, they are in a way semi-nomadic pride now and might turn full nomadic and leave western sector.

So the real source of this situation are humans as always... They trapped lions there.

RE: The Tumbela Coalition - Duco Ndona - 07-27-2022

Again though. Is there any concrete reason to believe that the PCmales are actively tracking and hunting down skorro and the pride with the goal of a takeover. Rather than just taking their land and then running into them occasionally while hunting. But not picking fights intentionally.

I agree that the root issue here is a lack of space. Most likely the pride will be driven in nomadhood entirely and end up in conflicts like these more often. In such case Skorro could have just tagged along.

Found this posted to the Othowa group regarding the location of Skorro in relation to the pride.

If they smell him, that won't be good. It'll be just like RR.
Isn't his brother Lambile?
Is Skorro Jr heading back up where he came from?

I guess we can stop calling this thread the TUMBELA COALITION now.

RE: The Tumbela Coalition - Horizon - 07-27-2022

Tintswalo coalition is in a weaker state presently but still this boy might have to do another running from there. Don’t think this boy can confront Mandevu in this state.

Why? Mapogos, Majingilanes, Matimbas, Selatis etc all are gone, but their threads are still here, no reason to change the name of the thread.

No challenging will happen anytime soon.

Skorro Jr. just arrive here, he has no idea who are territorial males or prides here and what is the lion dynamics here.

It will take weeks/months for Skorro Jr. to "scan" this area until he actually start doing some actions, thats if he stays here in the first place, he might just move further.

One of Tinswalo coalition is his brother. They might accept him. Who knows?

RE: The Tumbela Coalition - Duco Ndona - 07-27-2022

They are currently territorial. So the chances of that are very low. As far they are concerned, he is just an another outsider.

Nah, it is an area feature albeit artifical. Every biotope ends somewhere and something lives on the edges of it, likely due to competition or by chance. If it was a coastal cliff instead of fence, it would play out the same way. It is not like the fence was put there after they wandered in.
