Watching the WilldEarth stream, the guide was saying that 8 sub-adults left the pride, 2 of them are still wondering around close to the pride and other 6 (including the two whites I believe) have left the boundries of the area.

They seems to have quite a lot space around. Northern Manyeleti is open since demise of Koppies pride. Also Skorro pride seem to be spending their time further down H7 leaving space near Orpen Camp.

Newest members of the Birmingham pride. From WildEarth stream, allegedly 5-5.5 weeks old. One has distinctive dark spot on its left side. 3 of them, no white ones, they might be carriers of the gene though, their mother is supposed to be the mother of the young white male and they obviously could inherit it from their fathers side.

Dangerous times ahead.

RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - RookiePundit - 01-28-2021

Btw, you can count 8 heads on that picture, so the 2 young lionesses/sub-adults sticking to the Birmingham pride were not part of the 8 that split. I understood it that way from WildEarth, there was also a brief count of pride members, but I guess it could be understtod both ways, the picture in that tweet solves it.

I wonder, as the "white group" of 8 were contact calling, who they were calling for? As they were heading eastwards further from their natal pride, could they perhaps looking for BYM? He is supposed to be wandering in Manyeleti a lot lately, unless he is back with the pride atm.

Hope he’s with the pride. And it looks like the subadults are back with the pride too? They must have realized being on their own wasn’t as fun as they thought it was. They need another 6 months or so I think. It’ll be interesting if the five young females form a breakaway pride. That seems to be the trend with the Birmingham Pride.

It is normal that when possible sub adults does not split from core pride in one go, but with the time spent more and more time on their own so It wont't be surpise if they will try to reunite with core pride at least for some time.
