Remembering Mpohlo and Xitaya, 2 young warriors, who never run away from fight, the only males who defeat 2 prime Mbiri males, one of the strongest duos, in a 2 vs 2 clash :

Hope we have good news from their brother alive, Mpohlo and Xitaya did a good job in what they could, circumstances made their reign not so long, but successful to some extent, I started reading more about them at the beginning of the year, very sad

Without a doubt, the death of mpohlo had a drastically impact in the coalition and in the dynamics. If only Mpohlo was alive, the Skorro males will had a hard task at the time of overthrown to the Nharhu boys. Let's see if the Skorro males will settled up in the area.

What is Timbavati pride? :o

Timbavati pride is one of the oldest prides of the Timbavati region. The Timbavati pride is the same pride that had white cubs in 2009. From this pride, the Timbavati males and Xakubasa pride were born

In which part of Timbavati are they resident? :o

RE: Nharhu Male Lions - Matimbalani - 08-07-2021

Sad to hear this coalition fall apart like that. When I read that they were mating with the Mayambulas, I thought that they might run into trouble with the Mbiris.

Are the Skorros being pressured by anyone in the north? This seemed very sudden.

RE: Nharhu Male Lions - T I N O - 08-07-2021

Sadly it appears that one of the Nharhu males has passed away. After a fight with other male lions, he was left mortally wounded and eventually succumbed to his injuries. As sad as this is for us who have followed and viewed this lion it is the way of a male lions life, they live by the sword and die by the sword.
One thing is for sure, this now turns the lion dynamics on its head and it is going to be interesting to see what changes come.

RE: Nharhu Male Lions - T I N O - 08-07-2021

The two River pride males prominent from Klaserie reserve have been spent a lot of time on Camp George in Northern Timbavati (Simbavati) and even around the Motswari area. Hosi and Socha are dominant over a pride of 30 lions. So, makes sense that both Skorro.males are trying to expand their territory towards the centrals parts of the reserve with the ongoing pressure of these two big fellows

You mean Hosi and Socha puting pressure on Skorro male? Hosi and Socha are far away settled around Klaserie Drift, there is no way they would pressure Skorro males, they are way too far away. Also even if they would there is just 2 of them so not too much of a threat to Skorro males.

They've moved into Umbabat, Ingwelala and Ntsiri. They were seen in Timbavati last year with the Nharhu males

Most of the recently sightings have proven that Hosi and Socha  have been in the same area where the two Skorro males were photographed on a daily basis. They were seen in Northern Timbavati recently. These River pride males are a real threat to any coalition on a 2v2. They're big and healthy males.

RE: Nharhu Male Lions - Cunaguaro - 08-07-2021

Farewall the Nharhu male - With a heavy heart it's time to announce the death of one of the two remaining Nharhu male lions. Five days ago, a coalition of two strong and healthy males that have been pushing into the Nharhu and Riverpride territory caused an injury to Xitaya. Later on a Nharhu male was found along the thick banks of machaton, beaten and bruised, It was quite evident that this healthy male has was involved in a fight recently. Over the course of the next 3 nights he did not move from where he was last sighted and, obviously, his condition would continue to deteriorate to the point that his chance of survival were almost zero... Yesterday afternoon, tracks for a coalition of two male lions were picked up in the heart of the Riverprides territory (These two males were the ones who caught and beat the Nharhu male) and after some investigative work the brothers were identified as the notorious Skorro males. When things couldn’t seem to get any worse; after a chaotic night spine-chilling lion roars and chaos, the news I had dreaded so much crackled through on the radio, “Mphisi have bamba’d this madoda Ngala…”. In his weakened state Xitaya could no longer fend off a clan of opportunistic hyenas and they finished him off. As to the the Riverpride, the females have fled south in an attempt to protect their cubs whilst the Skorro males still reign terror across their home turf, the whereabouts of Skorokoro (the last remaining Nharhu male) is unknown but with his limping, he wouldn't last long against the newcomers in the area. And so in one single night the era of the Nharhu males has shattered into a thousand pieces.

Heartbreaking news..

Repost @bush_maniac
It’s with a heavy heart that I have to inform all of you, Xitaya, a Nharhu male has tragically fallen and with him so has the Nharhu males regime.

Around 5 days ago we discovered Xitaya along the thick banks of machaton, beaten and bruised, it was evident that our king had clearly met his match but to whom we were not sure of yet… over the course of the next 3 nights his condition would continue to deteriorate to the point where any hope of him finding the Riverpride and securing a meal was drowned with the stone-cold realisation that this could be the end. Yesterday afternoon, tracks for a coalition of two male lions were picked up in the heart of the Riverprides territory (these were to be the culprits of Xitayas injuries) and after some investigative work the brothers were identified as the notorious Skorro males. When things couldn’t seem to get any worse; after a chaotic night spine-chilling lion roars and chaos, the news I had dreaded so much crackled through on the radio, “Mphisi have bamba’d this madoda Ngala…”. As to the the Riverpride, the females have fled south in an attempt to protect their cubs whilst the Skorro males still reign terror across their home turf, the whereabouts of Skorokoro (the last remaining Nahru) is unknown but with his handicap, he would not last long against the newcomers. And so in one single night the era of the Nahru males has shattered into a thousand pieces.

Idk, Klaserie Drift is still regularly posting that Hosi and Socha are still very much around. Just yesterday they posted that they took buffalo together with River pride. Also Skorro males are as well young, strong and just showed how capable they are. I do not see Hosi and Socha expanding on Skorro males territory.

RE: Nharhu Male Lions - T I N O - 08-07-2021

Of course, both Skorro males have proven days ago of what they are capable of. But, they most likely have fought on a 2v1 as Skorokoro couldn't do much with his injured back leg. Now, if they someday fight against  Hosi and Socha things are completely different.  Of course, only time will tell. We can't predict nothing, much less in the lion dynamics. Look at the Nharhu era...
