Yeah I agree with the previous posts as well. His limp was bad enough to stop him from running from the DM Talamati. He was barely capable of a slow trot.
It would definitely heal in time but if his mobility is still poor then he's done for if the PC males catch him. There's no way he would get away from then have and no chance against them.

Looking at NK's limp in the video with the Ximhungwes, it looks quite worse than when he was with the Talamatis. Is it even the same limb? Could it be that he was with Talamatis when Kambulas attacked, which split all 3 of them?

"While tracking the Styx Pride, we were lucky to come across the Kambulas - four males and one female. The last time we saw them, they had some fresh wounds and looked a bit skinny, but today, they looked well-fed and in good condition.
While moving between open areas, the female went out of sight of the males and they contact called and shortly thereafter, she returned to them where they rested in the morning sun."

If it renders that eye useless, he may lose depth of vision aswell. Not a good thing for a lion almost entirely dependent on his own hunts.

Theres lions and leopards with 1 eye completly blind who live pretty normal life.
Lion wont be handicapped because small part of his skin covers part of his eye lol.
He has that injury for a while now, and didnt bother him whatsoever, always in peak condition for being lone nomad.

Just becouse an animal can adapt to it, doesnt mean its not a handicap or otherwise harmless.

Around 15-20 km from SS, they will not return, as by the looks of it, they are trying to establish themselves in that area.
