Tendai captioned this as Talamati, but I believe him to be 1/6 Kambula Boys.  I think 1/3 littermates maybe #4?

Nowadays this happens a lot.
It's too difficult to identify talamati/ nkuhuma/ kambula littermate just by looking at one of them.
It's easy when they are with pride.
If more females in pride then its talamati, if more male subs in pride then it's nkuhuma and if no female in pride then they are kambula

Yes it looks like #4 and no it isn't that hard to identify them apart

Kambula #3 (one of the harder to recognize, best way is by the scar under his left eye)

Kambula #4 (another more harder to recognize, best way by the small scar/dot on top of his Nose)

What is the exact age of this boy.
He does not seems like 5.75 yrs old .
I mean just compare it to dominant tumbela Or late othawa king nguvu, he looks tiny.
Is he undergrown??

RE: BBoys sons - Hairy tummy - 06-22-2022

Hes certainly not tiny, when hes next to nhenha they look pretty similar
Just his main isnt developed as much as the other lions you mentioned
The only male i would call tiny is orange eyes nwaswishaka but he makes up for that with character

He is not "tiny", in body he is around the size of Nhenha, who is considered to be one of the biggest males in Sabi Sands, NK male is definitely big boy, but has small mane, mane brings a lot for male to look bigger.

RE: BBoys sons - RookiePundit - 06-22-2022

I concur, Nkuhuma is not small, his mane has just been rether unimpressive, which is but understandable given his history and him still being nomadic (they are matng with Ximhungwe so this might be changing). But especially in that comparison, you took a photogenic specimen with exceptionally rich mane overall and more so for his age in Othawa male, who also had it easy becoming dominant over a pride, in that comparison most males of the same age would look worse than they really are.

That being sad if I am not mistaken, even Styx had more developed mane than him, so manewise, he really is rather average at best, but he might catch up a bit if he becomes dominant male with Nhenha. Although one lioness is lesser source of free meals helping with condition than say Mhangeni pride would be. We'll see how that turns out, any day lion dynamics can go upside down and change completely in any direction.

Thats Nkuhuma male coming into his prime years, holy, he dwarfs Ximhungwe female, looking fantastic.

He came a long way since he got ousted from Nkuhumas as 3 year old boy, great to watch.
