Urban & Backyard Wildlife - Peanut Man - 04-01-2017

Hello everyone, about a year ago I started feeding the squirrels around my house peanuts and one started to come to me and take them from my hand... well, once the rest of the gang saw what was going on, I started to have the whole crew coming up for peanuts! I started to go outside and sit on a bench and have the squirrels come up... then the chipmunks joined in on the tasty vittles being handed out! I am hoping the birds start to come in, getting close and starting to wonder what else I can become buddies with! Here are some videos of my new friends!!!

Thank you very much! Having a blast with them. When I was a kid I brought up baby squirrels, one spring a limb fell from a tree on my dad's car and a squirrel nest was on the limb, it had baby squirrels in it with their eyes closed. My mom got an eye dropper and we fed them baby milk... well, when their eyes opened, I was their dad! lol... I used to have them loose in my room, they were a blast and played hide and seek around my room, like they do in the wild with each other around trees... I used to take them in the yard and put them down on the ground and walk away and they would follow me and jump on me and play. After they were getting big I moved their basket they slept in to the garage and left the garage door open and they slowly left to live free... They would still come by and eat peanuts from my hand but then we moved. This is like the good old days again! Another "breakfast video" from this morning:

Hey didn't you have another backyard wildlife thread..??

Yes, with different videos. Finally getting some birds coming in on this one.

RE: More Backyard Wildife!!! - sanjay - 04-10-2017

@Peanut Man,
Since video is on same topic so post the video in same thread. A thread should be created only when you are posting new thing and worth of a new topic. Please add the same kind of video, information and images in same thread.
@WFT-3 (@Ngala, @Tshokwane, @tigerluver ), Please merge the threads with other existing thread of this kind

Sorry, my bad. Do you know of any other forums where people are into this backyard wildlife or similar that share what they are doing with local wildlife to gain trust etc.?

RE: Backyard Wildlife Fun!!! - sanjay - 04-11-2017

@Peanut Man,
To my knoweldge, there is no forum which specifically talk about local / backyard wildlife. But there are lot of forum like ours and even on pet animals where you can share your thing. To get them, just search with term "animals forum", "wildlife forum" etc..

If we get enough data, information and videos on local wildlife we will create entire new section here.

Thank you, I have other YouTube channels and for my archery and off-road truck build videos it is easy to find others doing the same thing and share information but not sure if many people are into what I am doing with the backyard wildlife thing. I have seen videos with people feeding birds by hand but I am having a heck of a time trying to get the local wild birds to come in like the chipmunks and squirrels. Be pretty cool to hear some techniques if others are having success.

Thanks again, sanjay.

Definitely, Most of the people don't have such awesome backyards as yours. You are blessed. And those having this, do not care to make videos, connect with others. But I think this is very unique and any wildlife lovers would love to do so.
I can understand that you want to learn the techniques of other people who easily get involved with untamed living creature, but they are very rare to find. You should start teaching the techniques you learned so far and this may attract to those who are involve in this thing.
I think patience is best thing here, wait and keep updating your video and techniques to other
