Great documentary about Tadoba tigers that explains everything that took place the last decade. unfortunately, it's all in Hindi and no subtitles either. for those of us that understand Hindi, this is a masterpiece. (part 1)

(part 2)

few more weeks until most parks re-open, I can't wait to see what this season holds for us. Tadoba, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Dudhwa, Kaziranga & the list goes on. oh man, with a growing population and so many faces to follow. the excitement is just next level.

A very special photo.
This photo will be very special to me, even though the image quality is absolutely poor. Not only because this is my first close encounter with tigers in the wild (I did manage to see and click a swamp tiger in Sundarbans last year but from quite a distance), but also because here you can spot TWO male tigers in one frame, which, in case you aren't aware, is extremely rare in the wild as adult tigers are extremely territorial in nature. Here pictured Rudra, male tiger from Tadoba being stalked and chased by Chota Matkasur (circled in red), the dominant (and perhaps the biggest) male of Tadoba.
What more can one ask for?
More pictures and videos coming up soon!

back in March, I had posted about this male tiger from Khata Corridor that i suspected was from the Dudhwa side based on his appearance. sure enough, while going through the camera trap pictures of 2022. I was able to find him in Katarniaghat camera trap photos. by now, there is no surprise that tigers from Nepal & India are effectively using these corridors to get around.

damn..didn't know that young kazi male died you got pics of the body? @Roflcopters

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 09-30-2023

@Roflcopters, Excellent stuff!!! Ookhan is still alive. I am hearing about him after 6-7 years. If you have the camera traps, see the males from the Nainital Division as they have some of the most impressive camera trap specimens.

@Ashutosh

I was going to search for more missing tigers, unfortunately for some reason. that link is now broken and i have no more access to the camera trap photos. I would’ve loved to do more of this with Bandhavgarh/Pench tigers.

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 09-30-2023

yea don't seem like foul play there looking at the body..could have been a rhino's doing though..he has dried saliva on his fur and rhinos like to bite too must have gored and nibbled on him..sad was a big one @Roflcopters

taru top sanju son of Maya and Tala bottom

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - kingrifter - 10-01-2023

@Rage2277

Surprising to see Maya’s son in the mix in the Moharli buffers as well. This upcoming season is going to be absolutely crazy in Tadoba. I heard that Taru has been seen in Junona, Devada, and Agarzari this monsoon season. He and CM are the most frequently spotted males across the Tadoba buffers. Shambhu too was seen in Agarzari and Junona the last couple of weeks. And then you have Paras, who is also around there with the new 5225 male (is he different from Sanju?). Honestly surprising that there are so many overlapping territories without anyone getting pushed out yet. Hoping Taru sticks around because Choti Madhu’s young cubs will be killed if he is pushed out.

I also hear that Rudra and Bajrang have been seen in the Kolara and Madnapur buffers in the monsoon. Yuvraj was allegedly at Jamini and Balram at Vasant Bhandara, so I would be surprised not to see Mowgli in the prime Moharli core.

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Rage2277 - 10-03-2023

Yea tala and mayas boy put on some good bulk..baj Jr could be a force too..rudra seems to have it the hardest out of all the dominant males in his class interesting  times and who is the 5225 male? @kingrifter @Roflcopters
