Does anyone know anything abt the whereabouts of Madhuri aka t10  cubs from tadoba .....

Sonam is in telia
Lara is in Junona
Choti madhu devada agharzhari buffer ...

Mona n gita ?

Next litter (2014-2015)she had 4 cubs which were seen regularly till the subadult stage but no.info abt them since they separated from her

2016-17 next litter again she managed to raise the cubs successfully till aubadult stage ...out of the 4 cubs choti madhu is in devada agharzhari buffer.

2017 the current litter , 3 males and one female
The female cub probably got killed somewhere towards the end of summer or begening of monsoon 2018..
The three male cubs have reached subadult stage and still with her .

Madhuri s 13-14 yr s age will be interesting to c if she gives birth to another litter .. fingers crossed

Any info other than the ones stated above will be very helpful .
Thanks in advance ??.

Yeah the stripe pattern says it all, both Matka and Chota Matka have thin stripes. it’s definitely Bajrang’s boy.

Ambeutra male of Kolsa seen in different areas in search of a territory, as of now he’s heavily confined to Agarzari buffer. I heard he had a fight with Khali recently. both had minor injuries. earlier in the year, he was seen around Mamla buffer very close to Wagdoh male and in the summer months. he was paying a visit to Bajrang in Telia. Bajrang drove him off.

another young male that travelled from the Andhari river side and was seen around Agarzari buffer. October/2019

Chota Matka, the rising king of Tadoba. he had a fight with Matkasur recently and he seems to be making a substantial progress in his ability to fight the veteran males. he’s playing strategically, not too long ago. he made a kill in Alijanja buffer, which was later stolen by Mowgli. he knows he’s not ready for a full out fight, considering the odds and his ability to hunt. he’s probably just buying time until he gets stronger. only time will tell if he stays in the core or ends up moving to the bufferzone. October/2019.

Bajrang in Dewada buffer

In my 12 years of following tigers, i have never come across a male that has managed to rule every area of the park with sheer force. every fight, every opponent. Bajrang can be seen anywhere in Dewada Buffer, Junona Buffer, all areas of Teliya, fire line, khutvanda, kosekanar, Moharli, devdoh area, Wagdoh area, Jamni Lake, Khatoda, Tadoba range and all the way to the other end of the park in Kolara buffer. with 10 females under his command and about 40 cubs. he probably has broken B2 and Wagdoh’s record of producing the most cubs as a ruling male. no male tiger in India has sired the amount of the cubs that he has. I can bet my life on it. this is record worthy, on the female side. Collarwali female of Pench holds the record for the most cubs sired by a ruling female. July/2019

Rudra

a promising youngster who is also searching for a territory has been seen roaming around Kolara buffer in Kankajhari’s territory and deep in Bajrang’s territory, probably avoiding conflict with the veteran males until he’s strong enough to confront them. July/2019

I too agree with this. And I think Matka and choti tara also knows. That's why she shifted from her home range of Jamni to kosekonar road with this litter.

The end of an Era

The legendary King of Kanha T17 Munna

is being shifted to Bhopal Van Vihar from his kingdom. Steps taken by the MPFD is applauded as they wanted the King not to get ill treated due to human tiger conflict. The latest death of a villager was attributed to Munna.

RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Ashutosh - 10-23-2019

It really is an end of an era. Not sure if Forest Department should be doing this, though. Like Machli should have been left to her own devices, but tourists and wildlife lovers put so much pressure on them to prolong her life and it sort of robbed her of that dignity of being truly wild till the end.

I see the other side of the argument as well, and I get that iconic individuals should be around for as long as possible because there are symbolic of the few success conservation stories and in this instance humans are in some peril as well, so, maybe fair enough that Munna is being moved. But how much human intervention is really necessary in such cases has to be discussed for other cases in the future?

Anyway, we need to find a new tiger that can spell it’s scientific family name on it’s forehead now.

FYI: A very young T17 was injured by a bigger male and had a distinctive limp which matched the limp of a forest guard called Munna (hence the name). He was named to annoy the guide, little did they envisage a male dominating for over 15 years, written off many times (every year since 2015) only to somehow make a comeback in core area and later in buffer zone strategically avoiding younger tigers, so much that the guides began to revere him.

I don’t think the Forest Department had much of an option after he was linked to the death of a 14 year old girl, he would have been poisoned or killed by the locals. I feel like this is a much better route to pay homage to the king of Kanha, one of the most legendary tiger that has ever lived.
