Barasingha's are a bit smaller than sambars, but much larger than chital. This is from my visual observation.

How does the data compare? Barasinghas are rare creatures, no wonder data is scarce. Anything from old hunting literature?

I have found this interesting image in at a book of the deer of the world:

If a chital measure c.90 cm in height and a Sambar c.140 cm, I guess that c.120 cm is a good shoulder height for a Barasingha. In this case, the classic zoologists like Blanford are more accurate than most of the webpages that quote a shoulder height of 135 cm.

I'd love to see the difference between wild boar from Siberia Region compared to Wild Boar from India.

Maybe even Wild Boar compared to Warthogs?
Just think it'd be cool to see them next to each other.

African and Indian Elephant as well as One horned rhino compared to S. White Rhino as well.

Thanks again, these are so cool!

Thank you very much @Pckts.

Well, based in the measurements, it seems that Russian boars hunted in the Sikhote-Alin mountains are in fact larger than those from India, although we most remember that the specimens from Russia has been measured "along the curves", while those from India are "between pegs". So, it is possible that the head-body length of up to 217 cm from Russia could be actually of c.200 cm or slightly less, still it is very long.

About the warthogs, these animals are definitely much smaller than those from India and Russia.

African and Asian elephants are in the list, but it will take time. About the rhinos, there is not too much for comparison, as I have good sources for the Asiatic specimen, but for the large white one, there are only shoulder heights and are no different from those of Nepal.

For the moment, I am going to finish with the Barasingha and the Indian leopard, and latter it came the Russian animals.

Greetings.

Wild water buffalo Bubalus arnee, Kaziranga National Park, Assam, India. These bovids are really enormous, incredibly powerful and somewhat bad-tempered. Their survival in the wild as a true species is often threatened - where they still survive - by interbreeding with domestic and feral water buffalo let loose by farmers.
