I got lucky with this guy when I bid good bye to my first group and was driving from one property to another to greet the second group. This was late morning and we chanced upon this guy right next to the road. "

Northeast India to SouthEast Asia is a good place for big herbivores and in ancient times held big populations of 3 species of Rhinos (Indian, Sumatran, Javan), Gaur, Wild Water Buffalo, Banteng, Kouprey (just as big as Banteng but on the brink of extinction), Takin and the Asiatic Elephant. It’s a shame their numbers have fallen so low and they have lost so much of their former range and habitats.
