The largest known terrestrial animal, the African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana), has had trouble with the lion, Cape buffalo and rhinos:
But only one animal is apparently large enough to intimidate the elephant: the giraffe. Notice that in this video, at first, an elephant kicks off a hippo, but then, in another scene, when a member of a small family of elephants approaches a couple of giraffes, the giraffes behave aggressively, forcing the elephant family to flee (other screenshots can be viewed here)!

Their conservation status doesn’t get quite as much attention as more prominently imperilled species, and the world tends to assume that giraffe populations are doing just fine in the wild.
