The largest known terrestrial animal, the African bush elephant (Loxodonta africana), has had trouble with the lion, Cape buffalo and rhinos:

But only one animal is apparently large enough to intimidate the elephant: the giraffe. Notice that in this video, at first, an elephant kicks off a hippo, but then, in another scene, when a member of a small family of elephants approaches a couple of giraffes, the giraffes behave aggressively, forcing the elephant family to flee (other screenshots can be viewed here)!

Dereck Joubert's warning about giraffes : " It may seem like a perfectly ubiquitous sight … but the reality is very different. Their conservation status doesn’t get quite as much attention as more prominently imperilled species, and the world tends to assume that giraffe populations are doing just fine in the wild. In fact, in many parts of their range, these iconic animals are facing alarming declines, and the pressures of survival in landscapes increasingly hemmed in by humans can be especially intense. Just one more reason why we need more awareness and education to highlight their plight.  ".

Howard Cleland: " Always rewarding to see a mother and calf prospering in a previously highly poached reserve. Good for the Soul to see. "
Thus, good news about these white rhinos of South Africa.

Beverly Joubert: " A lone bull crossing a large channel. Older bulls move on their own a great deal of their lives. They will meet up with the breeding herds from time to time and will often stay together with a few other males. But a lone male can travel a huge distance. Before fences and borders, these elephants would have moved across most of Africa ".
