This was a very unusual sighting of ‪#‎Indian‬ ‪#‎Gaur‬ when I was expecting ‪#‎Wild‬ ‪#‎Buffalo‬ in ‪#‎Kaziranga‬. Many of Forest Dept. persons also surprised with this sighting in KTR.

"Nyala bulls have a slightly different approach to impala rams, preferring the intimidation tactic. This bull was displaying for the benefit of another male, trying to look as big as possible in the hope that the other bull would back down, and in that way actual physical confrontation would be avoided." Savuti this year was even better than last year's ODP Safaris to this great destination. This "just setting the moon image' from one of last year safaris - 2015 to follow this week.

If you have a hippo week you must have a big yawn as well.

Impressive how big that yawn is and how big those teeth or tusks are. Now we know why they cause so many deaths each year in rural Africa...!

Got to love the Chobe river.... it just has that something that you cannot explain!
If I was a hippo I'd probably live there as well.

Well it's the dawn of a new week - however sometimes I wish I was like this hippo just staying right in bed... :)

At least I get some coffee for my efforts (y)
