According to bhambosafaris, RRM is recovering well. Still, we would like to see pictures.

If he is alive now, he still has the means to survive.

What I am wondering is wheter or not he is with his pride or went nomadic.

RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Tonpa - 10-10-2021

Tintswalo seems to be transitioning into a more active virtual safari channel, hopefully we get some footage soon

I think he challenged Tintswalos and not other way around, so he still should has his territory and pride.
Tintswalos are regulary seen in their area with Mbiris after the fight, so they are not pushing south.

A new update: I received a sighting of the Red road male. Once I have the permission of the author to share, I'll post them here

The appearance of a ghost - A recent sighting of the good looking Red road male seen in Manyeleti three days ago. He was spotted with a lot of wounds on the back legs. But still a powerful cat despite the hard circustances he had afront in the last weeks. The latest updates from Manyeleti rangers indicated that this beast has fought against the Tintswalo coalition made up of three males approaching to their heyday. What a tough guy!

This subadult Imbali male managed to take down an injured buffalo by himself! This shot was taken prior to the takedown where the male was watching the buffalo who had been previous attacked by other lions and hyena.

Nice to see that he can take down a buffalo at this young age, he will need the hunting skills when he becomes nomadic.

Update: Red Road Male is on His last legs, according to Tintswalo Safari Lodge.

Yeah, it’s a bit of ‘dramatic’ statement from them.   When I read the caption, I was thinking they were going to speak nor show his condition, but no such luck,,,  Here Alistair describes the changing dynamics in Manyeleti.

Yeah, I saw that footage, but the rangers aren't always right, you know. They just made that assumption about RRM's chance of survival. Hopefully they are wrong.

We shall see. They have the best view afteral.
But you cant count an animal out untill its cold.
