This is was that article I posted in the Birmingham thread (written early 2015): "The coalition of five young males was forced to leave their maternal pride due to the very powerful and territorial Matimba lions, who dominate large parts of the Manyeleti. "
So yeah, I guess there were rumors that the Matimbas outsed them even back then, but hopefully the Matimas weren't actually dominant over their own natal pride... and also it could be that the 8 (5 brothers, 3 sisters) just left on their own and ran into the Matimbas?

Yea i think that too, that Matimbas chased them off from that area after they split , but didnt oust from the pride.

3 new cubs have been introduced into the Nharu pride recently
The Nharu pride currently consists of 6 adult lionesses and 17 cubs ranging from around 1 month old to 6-7 months old.

At this stage. if all the 17 cubs survive until the adulthood. the Red road male could be one of the most successfully solo male in the Greater Kruger area. Without count the Giraffe male and Black dam male too

There are also quite a few scratch marks on that leg so could have been indeed caused by other lion. Beside that young males are looking great and should soon take over some territory. It is also quite scary that they are quite close to Nharu pride and their cubs.

Yeah I was thinking that too. We can’t assume they’re not a potential danger to the prides up north. I wonder if the Nharu male will even recognize his natal pride at this point?

I'm sure that the Nharu and the Mbiri males are capable recognize the Nharu pride because they spend much years with their mothers/sisters as well the Nharu young male. However,We can't know how they will react at this stage. they can be turn very agressive and kill the cubs and chasing the RRM out of the area or as not.
But now the Nharu pride have 17 cubs to protect plus the Red road male as dominant male a incredible force in the Manyeleti for now.
The Nharu females are brave lionesses and with cubs to protect "of a possibly attack". I will prefer not be on the pants of the Nharu males and the Mbiri haha!

I agree with you. I don't like how sound this,at all.
For the longest time, I have wished that RRM would partner up with some others, the same as Othawa Male. I just don't ever see it happening while they are the dominant males over a pride, especially with cubs. I don't believe he can beat them alone, but if he can survive the challenge, then perhaps he can join up with some others and form a coalition. He wouldn't be the first to do this, Notch took some of his sons with him when he was run off, and returned, Solo bounced around, as did Freddy from what I remember reading about him. However, my biggest concern right now is those cubs, they are in very real danger right now. This whole situation is concerning, for RRM and the entire Nharu pride, just as @Potato mentioned earlier.

The RRM on his youngers days partnered up with the Koppies young male (N.Matimba son) He was most likely killed by the Avoca/Giraffe males.
