Interesting

Dont forget Big boy mbiri came back and mated with his natal pride after jr's passing. Not sure what came out of that but he didnt stay long because his brother wasnt with him

Maybe the smaller subs could be his?

No cubs from that mating survived.

Brief sighting at the beginning of the Imbali young males, Imbali lionesses and (potentially) Wonky Eye.

On a side note. I saw there was yet another snaring incident that took place in Manyeleti, unfortunate victim was a leopard this time.

In Painted Wolf's videos about the leopard, they were very clear on where it took place, Manyeleti, calling them out several times in the videos, and pointing out how there have been multiple snaring incidents there.

Mbiris, recently posted.

RE: Lions of Manyeleti - criollo2mil - 04-19-2024

Two new additions to the Mbiri pride numbers were revealed for our cameras today.

This time, a lioness with a litter of two cubs.

She was seen alone so cubs have yet to be introduced to their fellow new cub and older cousins.

UPDATE; It SEEMS THIS IS ACTUALLY AN IMBALI LUONESS. NOT MBIRI. CUB SIRED BY KRUGER MALE WHO WAS SEEN NOT FAR FROM THIS PAIR

Do we know the fathers? Both tintswalo boys and Mbiri boys were seen mating with different lionesses?

Latest Tintswalo Virtual Safari. Mbiri lioness with solitary cub at 7:21, the same one as viewed a few weeks ago. Tristan also points out scarring on the lionesses neck from a snare.

Trystan does mention other guides stated more cubs in the Pride. Wonder if there is confusion w that same Imbali Pride female w the 2 cubs. The Imbali Female was seen close to the area typically occupied by the Mbiri Pride.

Wonky Eye is one of the two Imbali Males mentioned in this clip.  He's the one with the less impressive mane, the other is hiding more in the shadows.  So he and his big brother were the ones chasing the Kruger Male.  Maybe one of the lionesses is their sister and the other is their mother? Who knows.  The bigger male looked right at the camera when those 2 lionesses got spooked!  Would have loved to have seen him close-up!

If you mean the first male with blue eye, thats not Wonky Eye, as he has blue eye on the other side.

RE: Lions of Manyeleti - Cath2020 - 04-20-2024

Which one is Wonky Eye?  The guide mentioned that he's one of the 2 Imbali Males.  Is he the bigger one in the shadows near the bushes?  I'd really like to have a close-up of both of those males side by side.  WE should be having a bigger mane than the male shown, was what I was initially thinking, and maybe the guide wasn't clear on which male was which.

Theres 2 Imbali brothers + Wonkey Eye, only 2 males where on the video, which where prob 2 Imbali males.
