The rain just stopped when we left Maroela camp and drove onto the S106. We heard a male lion calling and soon found the big man close to the road. In the distance we saw something small moving and to our surprise it was few lionesses with cubs. They looked straight into my lense (actually looking at the male lion) and made the most beautiful photos. We kept our distance as they walked on the dirt road. It was a magical sighting as we and three other cars took turns to drive in front to view the pride before they disappeared into the green thickets.
