I remember when the Ximungwe cub was little, there were a lot of us, including me, who believed she might be a male, as she had some fluff around her neck. Then one day it was confirmed she was female. Definitely no confusion in this case, your comment just reminded me of that situation.

Fantastic captures.  I’m impressed how well Lambile looks.  It’s the most ‘filled-out’ I’ve seen him in over a year.  Looks like he’s coping well with the atrophy in his hip

Do you know when and how he got the atrophy in his hip? Was it caused by a hunting accident?

I don’t know of any report where it covers how he got it injured.  Hunting is very plausible.

Are those cubs possibly fathered by the Mbiri males?

They probably are Tinstwalo cubs from Mbiri prides. I dont think Mbiri males mated with their own sisters.

I thought Scar was seen mating with more than one of his sisters awhile back.

If this is a recent sighting and it’s a new litter, then they’re likely Tintswalo cubs.  Two months ago, there was a new litter shown and those cubs could have fell in the timeline of when Scar mated.  I’ve asked Tintswalo to clarify if this is a new second litter, or that same litter from two month ago.   For reference Scar mated with Mbiri lionesses appx last week April/1st week of May.   1st reveal of a three cub litter was made Sept 21 and they looked appx 4-6 weeks old.    This litter looks of similar age as the one seen prior, so it could be re-shared old footage.
