Portrait of one of the Southern Avoca Males!
These boys are the resident males for the Eyrefield / Spata Pride and the Sand River Pride.
Can you notice how his using his brother as a pillow??

They were born in early 2013. They're turning into 8 years old soon.
In my personal opinion, The pigmentation of the nose not always depends on the age of the individual. The smaller Mbiri male had completely black-nosed at the age of 5/6.

Almost 8,still not too old to have completely black nose, it also depends of the lion himself..

There where words from some that bigger maned Avoca is bigger/more impressive then his brother mohawk/dark maned, but i dont thinks so based on this sighting, they are pretty much indentical in size.

Indeed. There you can see them next to each others even better.






Also mane of the one who used to be called smaller maned Avoca nicelly filed up and got darker. I do not think Southern Avocas are of same age. There have to be some good few months difference in age between them .
