He's a beautiful specimen,However I feel that when he became old I doubt that he can keep well his the limp, especially now that he's on his prime and sometimes that limp get worse,Also is a shame see a such magnificent specimen limping... (Apparently he was seen mating with Torchwood females a few months ago.)

I wonder what he will do in future as this Talamati offspring will be coming to adulthood in a year or so...will he try to raise another generation or unite with his brothers down south..

I think 4 Mbiris moving in his area might be even good thing for him if they force him down south to reunite with his brothers, even if he would need to abandon Talamatis for that...he will have tough future if he stays alone and permanently splits with his brothers..

Well,I don't know until which point is good that the 4 Mbiris be moving though his territory with that limp I doubt that he can be much faster than those 4 young males, besides if he decided fight he will fall

The Avoca males are pushing further and further into Londolozi.
Is a clash with the Birmingham males to the south inevitable, or will one coalition simply give way?
The unpredictability of the situation is one of the main reasons it's so appealing.
One thing’s for sure, the next few months of lion viewing look set to be full of drama.

Dark Mane & Talamatis. Sadly it looks like DM is back to not putting any weight on this front right paw.

Dark-Mane is a beautiful male lion. sadly his front right paw has slowed him down a lot he has it for  1 year and 2 months now.

@"TinoArmando"  Agreed.

Blondie's looking better but his back legs always look really skinny. I don't know if he's lost a lot of muscle from his previous injuries or he's just a naturally skinny lion.

Mohawk is in the best shape of all the N. Avocas. He was last seen on WE (Sept 27th?) and it looks like the growth on his elbows are almost gone:

RE: Avoca male lions - Gijima - 10-07-2020

Read something about how the NAvocas just walked into an empty territory on the Lions of SS thread and wanted to clear up that info (moving it to the Avoca thread to not spam the other one). I’m not blaming the poster since this is spread by some uninformed guides on WE all the time but here is a video of the BBoys coming to Djuma for the last time (May 3 2018) to fight for their territory and leaving battered and bruised, never to return again to the north:

Some interesting things to remember:

1) Although BBoys moved to the south, they did often visit the north (nkuhuma and Styx in 2018). No coalition of 4 would limit themselves to one pride or even just Mala Mala. They would have ideally have owned most of the eastern sector as any normal coalition of 4 would, with multiple prides. The N Avocas had everything to do with limiting BBoys to just one pride and yes, BBoys could definitely have fought and ousted the Avocas if they attacked them as a coalition of 4 but they chose not to.

2) In the video the ranger says one lion was seen running north. This fight happened in May 3 2018 and Mfumo was never seen after this date. This is purely speculation but could Mfumo have been with these two BBoys when they came up north? The last reports of Mfumo are that he was seen “up north”... so he had to have been with Tinyo and Nsuku because clearly they were up north too.. All of this is speculation I know but it always bothered me he just went MIA and this is the only real confrontation I can think of that happened at that time.

Anyways....just wanted to share.

N. Avocas came here when presence of Bboys in that area was getting rare.. Few Bboys still visit their prides when N. Avocas where around, but N. Avocas only made a move for Nkuhumas when Bboys completely opt out..

Bboys definitely knowed that Avocas where around, and tryed to find them when they where returning (like in this video, but i dont think theres any report of actually confortation, its unknown what happened to Mfumo) but with them moving south and finding 2 new prides in Mhangenis and Kambulas with a lot of females in estrus, they decided that its not worth it to fight with Avocas, because majority of Nkuhuma and Styx females had cubs/subadults, so they wont be in estrus that soon..

The point is that N. Avocas didn't oust Bboys, Bboys partly moved out before Avocas came in, and then when Avocas where starting to establishing themselves, Bboys decide that its not worth to fight it..

Would Bboys completely abandon those prides if Avocas didn't came in? At that tim prob not, but over a months they would definitely abandon that area regardless..

RE: Avoca male lions - Potato - 10-07-2020

"Although BBoys moved to the south, they did often visit the north"

Not often at all. Since they started mating with Kambulas, they bassicly did not care anymore about their prides in the north.

"No coalition of 4 would limit themselves to one pride or even just Mala Mala."

With Kambulas they have regular feeding and matings with young females. Why do you think they needed more?  Also if they indeed would want more prides they would propably just expand further insteed of hard trying to keep their northern lands. It isn't really common for lion coalitions to sire more than one generation with one pride. If they have chance then they most often prefere to focus on the new prides for take over.

Mfumo did not came with his brothers to fight off Avocas. He has stayed with Kambulas.

RE: Avoca male lions - Gijima - 10-07-2020

I agree this definitely wasn't a violent takeover but it wasn't any less impressive than the way Bboys took over the north. For one thing, the Avocas were outnumbered... how many young males try to sneak into other male's territories like this and get isolated or cornered and killed? They definitely played the game well, and took a risk. I guess I just hate when people act like the Avocas took no risk and walked into an open territory... which wasn't the case.

Bboys were with both prides I think until March (Nhena was mating with Amber eyes), and then when they returned in May, Nsuku had a swollen eye, a puncture wound on his head and Tinyo was slightly limping. Honestly who even knows what happened that night... it was just interesting.

Mfumo- I think I read somewhere that the last he was seen was "up north" or "in Kruger". There was a lot of random information floating around about his disappearance and no, I really don't think Avocas had anything to do it. Having said that, he definitely went somewhere so it was just interesting to know that all of this happened around the same time.
