We've come full circle. Dark mane back sleeping on Djuma

Here’s the footage of DM on Djuma today. Very misty out there today. Poor guy seemed like he wanted to call but was being cautious. I think S8 was in the area and of course he always has to be cautious of his brothers being that he’s not with them any more. Really he has to be very cautious overall being that he’s on his own and doesn’t really have a territory anymore. Nose was down a lot too while on the move so probably trying to sniff out the Talamatis. Great to see him though. As always.

Dark Mane announcing his presence to tell the S8 male that he's not going anywhere

First time seeing DM roaring since late 2021, more then half a year ago.

@afortich I guess here is the evidence that he indeed roared to S8/Imbali male yesterday morning.

Interesting.

RE: Avoca male lions - WildLeonis - 07-10-2022

I imagine he hasn’t stayed completely quiet for 8 months (last footage I saw of him roaring was in Nov 2021). He’d have to do more than sniff the ground to catch up with the Talamatis after 3-4 months of separation. It certainly is great to actually see him roaring.  As I understand S8 was making a quick exit out of Djuma yesterday. So that could’ve been due to DM or even the other N.Avocas (if they were around) roaring.  I don’t think any of these lions want to have a confrontation  with their rivals unless it’s necessary.

This is indeed great to see! Something has changed in DM since his recent troubles, and he seems to be putting his foot down. He was calm and resolute yesterday, while S8 was roaring very aggressively, not the same response as when their conflict began. Hopefully S8 will not encroach any further, and maybe, just maybe, his N Avoca brothers will come and pay a visit. IMO they need a healthy DM just as much as he needs them right now.

So happy for DM, very Nice and Interesting. But like you said @Trx24, let's wait and see.
I know I make a lot of inferences/deductions based on circumstantial evidence, which sometimes are correct and other times are wrong.
We will see which way the drama of DM and S8 will take Wink

I agree with you.

They reunited back in the north, when both parties returned and prob just bump into each others, also contact calling for pride is not the same as full on territorial roar, which we didnt see from DM since you said, November 2021 or something , and few months after that he and Talamatis become nomadic and started to roam Sabi Sands.

I don't believe this has been posted here, though it says it was posted on YT 10 days ago. A day at the beach for DM. He is really tolerant when a young lion is jumping all over his head.

It was posted thru Londolozi youtube vlog, this was from around 1 month ago or something like that, when the DM/Orange Eyed young male was missing from the pride.
