Are they sure she killed it? Or did it die of natural causes and she was caught feasting on it? If she did kill it that’s pretty impressive.

My thoughts as well, I'd be really surprised if she did kill it herself.

Rekero Pride lionesses killed the crock last year, end of year, in the Mara. I don't remember if any of the 3 Salas Boys were around at the time.

Oh.

That was my mistake since I saw the post on a different forum.

Video realized in the Kruger National park about a hunt without risk. A big maned-lion kills a small prey, - a young wildebeest ? -, difficult to see what it was...

" This was hands down one of my favorite Tank sightings in the Kruger National Park to date! Many speculate, that Tank cannot run, being the MASSIVE Male Lion he is in size, but here we see him strong, lean, active, and running at full steam! Did he steal the kill from the Lioness? Or did he just do it all himself with his power? In the beginning, he is going after a Leopard's meal in a tree. There, you can see the sheer size of this Lion! South Africa Today! The beautiful, TANK! The Biggest Male Lion in the Kruger National Park! "

RE: Lion Predation - Spalea - 04-21-2023

Recent video showing a male lion catching, killing a young male buffalo and, after some trouble with the herd, dragging the entire body. I believe it happened somewhere in the Kruger national park (not clearly indicated).

Wasn't he the Snip-tail Mpondo? One year ago or so when he has already been alone after his coalition partners' demise...

@Lipstick2

About #1074:

" Wasn't he the Snip-tail Mpondo? One year ago or so when he has already been alone after his coalition partners' demise... "

It's possible ! From where I am, I cannot answer you. I only have been interested by the fact that this very recent video shows.

This is the South Shishangeni male who caught this buffalo

RE: Lion Predation - Spalea - 04-23-2023

Another sight of the video showed at #1073. We don't see the hunt, but the lion dragging the buffalo's corpse from an other angle. At least initially.

I just come to discover this video and I never saw a male lion catching an impala at full speed !
