This story is really something. A good example why I don´t take seriously most of these "eye witness accounts" from past, especially when about 100 years old or older. In those times most people saw for instance rhinos and lions in some drawings maybe... and obviously some people took advantage of it while writing amazing stories. This is again typical. Two animals fighting and... surprise surprise, both die in the end, what a dramatic story. There is same kind of nonsense story about lion and gorilla fighting, like they would be some gladiators on arena, and in the end both "warriors" die....
This story, lion attacking a rhino, jumping on it and holding grip with one paw while beating with another like some mma fighter. And we have seen this in reality, in countless video clips how many times? Yeah, never, 0 times and never will.
Just like that gorilla story, gorilla calling a lion to fight without no reason whatsoever, something what we would see in reality, even if they would live in same areas, which they don´t... never.
These old stories give often a good laugh, but if some young people read these stories my advice is: Don´t believe everything you read.
There is at least one as imaginary story of a lion and a tiger fighting, one reporter wrote it and 4-6 old newspapers published it, but same story in in all of these newspapers copied from original or maybe that reporter sent it to several newspapers or something like that. So someone could say, multiple sources confirms. My opinion is, same shit in different packages
When reading these stories, people should always think a moment if they have seen anything even remotely similar in reality. Nowadays luckily we have many clips to compare.

Some Amazing predation information
The largest prey were constituted by adult male giraffe, weighing around 1200 kg, approximately 10 times the mass of the predator. Species under 20 kg in mass, i.e. 15% of predator body mass, contributed little to the prey base for lions, due probably to their agility.
Studies elsewhere show buffalo to be numerically the predominant prey of lion in Chobe National Park in Botswana (Viljoen 1993), Kafue National Park in Zambia (Mitchell et al. 1965) and Lake Manyara National Park in Tanzania (Schaller 1972). Hayward & Kerley (2005) found that lion selected prey species preferentially within a mass range of 190–550 kg, but made no adjustment for the under‐recording of smaller prey species. Over half of the giraffe and two‐thirds of the buffalo killed by lion were adult animals in the Mala Mala Reserve adjoining Kruger (Radloff & du Toit 2004). A substantial fraction of the adult buffalo falling prey to lions are killed by male lions hunting independently of female prides (Funston et al. 1998, 2001; Radloff & du Toit 2004). In northern Botswana, lions hunting in groups of around 10 killed young elephants weighing up to 2500 kg in body mass, more than 10 times the mass of a male lion (Joubert 2006).

Nearly or not, there is no chance a lion can knock a truck over, tip one or anything in between.
If Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos and Cape Bulls all have trouble tipping them, a Lion which isn't in the same realm of strength as the aforementioned is going to have no hope.

Go to the Lions taking on cape bull thread, Bulls can overpower 3 Lions at once, do you really think you can compare a lone lion to a cape bull in strength?
A young elephant is a different story, it'll depend on the age.

I think, that time to stop this before going over the top and childish. @ragelion we all know, that lions are strong, but being able to tackle a bigger animal is one thing, they can loose balance when caught with surprise or while running in full speed. It´s not about overpowering, but using speed, strength and body mass in certain way.
You like lions and yes, lions are doing many times remarkable things, but your postings now are a bit like "fanboy postings". And when you have a small debate with @Pckts about this, there is no reason whatsoever to mention tigers in this.
