RE: Lion Predation - Spalea - 05-07-2019 @Shadow : About #630: you told " One reason might be tourists in car keeping constant noise.... But of course even animals are time to time sloppy. ". Yes of course, but here the tourist car is far from the hyenas (seeing the path to make after to come near the lion killing the hyena). I don't believe there was other tourists cars because it wouldn't be the lone car to make this approach of the lion (when several tourists cars suddendly want to come close to a lion, it's immediately the bloody mess even over a so open landscape)... Sloppy hyena ? Both hyenas seemed busy at the beginning. Probably the lion was coming closer to the hyenas against the wind. Nevertheless they were... absent-minded. Dangerous and fateful behaviour ! So good visibility to every direction and they got surprised like that :) Terrain seemed to be such, that they should have spotted that lion "miles away" if paying attention to surroundings, they live there after all with lions and they for sure should know it But we all know, that animals make mistakes, especially younger ones with less experience. Same thing in hunting time to time, some performances could be called sloppy or miserable try outs :) RE: Lion Predation - Wolverine - 05-20-2019 Lion feeding on eland, originaly posted by @Lycaon *This image is copyright of its original author The image is interesting, this lion with damaged eye looks like a prototype of the lion for the incoming "Lion King" scheduled for release for July 19th this year (I'm already counting the days)… RE: Lion Predation - Pckts - 05-21-2019 Nothing gets in the way of a Big Bull Cape! RE: Lion Predation - Shadow - 05-25-2019 Maybe this has been here in past, maybe not. One older but quite extraordinary incident to show, that every now and then we can see something, which can feel almost impossible to believe. Until it happens :) Fascinating case. https://blog.nationalgeographic.org/2014/04/03/baby-baboons-frightening-encounter-with-lions-ends-with-a-heroic-twist/ RE: Lion Predation - Shadow - 05-28-2019 This article is about two lions hunting a giraffe. Some spectacular photos. Case is from 2017 and maybe some have seen it before, but if not then these photos are worth to see. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/heartbreaking-moment-giraffe-tries-fight-11560714 RE: Lion Predation - Styx38 - 06-03-2019 Subadult Lion kills Subadult Buffalo RE: Lion Predation - Shadow - 06-03-2019 (06-03-2019, 06:32 AM)Styx38 Wrote: Subadult Lion kills Subadult Buffalo To what is based subadult?
