Wily HB can handle himself I think. He seems to play the disappearing act well and makes an appearance later on when he's good and ready. He hasn't made it to 15 years of age for nothing. I hope only old age will take him out. That sly one won't be so easy to handle as the males may assume. I'm more worried about the teenagers in the pride, if anything. If the nomadic males get a hold of them......
Its not the Junior mother, its the other infertile lioness.
Youngsters are getting at the point where they actively participate in hunts, and in potential takeover they will run away with Junior. 3 youngsters are almost big as their mother, in few months they will be capable on surviving on their own pretty much, with Junior, so no fear for them.
That's good to know that it's confirmed that the infertile lioness is with them. As far as for the youngsters, we don't know about their future yet. They say that the nomadic stage for a male lion is one of the most precarious of his life.... Many don't make it and just as many are not so successful at siring lots of cubs and having prides for very long. The hardest part of a male lion's life begins after 2-3 years of age. He's easily driven away and injured by older, stronger males. The female won't have it any easier if she's also driven away during a take-over, which she will be most likely if it occurs before she's mature enough to mate. I think lions do much better if they're chased away closer to age 3 than 2.... Junior is barely 2 years and 5 months now and the youngsters aren't even 2.... But yea, I get that with Junior they'll survive better than without him. It would be preferable though, if one of the older females go with them.
Let's hope that won't happen anytime soon. Give them just another year at least. Would be better.

Its not confirmed, but if any Othawa lioness is with them, it would be her, because other 2 where seen with the pride at that time when that news came, and she is only in estrus between them..

Absolute blunder from singita rangers. All the Othawa lionesses have reported and seen with the pride in Western sabi sands as per Ryan Johnston and other rangers.
The lioness seen with the nomadic males is identified to the Nkuhuma lioness who has been seen on his own in elephants plains and simbambili previously. She is sister of NK male
Thx for clearing this out, as i said i too had doubt that this was Othawa lioness and most likely NK lioness.
I've notice that Singita has a lot of young and new rangers that they prob move thru their reserves, so prob not all of them know resident lions very well..

More Update
Ulusaba rangers updated the Singita rangers about the altercation between the Matimba Male and the 3 nomadic males. They also informed them about the tracks crossing into their area.
Ryan just confirmed to me on Instagram that the singita rangers have located the 3 nomadic males. They are currently 8km away the from the Othawa pride and the Matimba Male.
Matimba Male is still vocalising over short periods

Indeed althrough I do not think it is over. The youngsters will be getting more confident with a time and a Matimba male better stick with a pride as he can not fight 3 vs 1.

As @Potato mentioned, however, I do think it would be best if he were to stick close to the pride, at least I hope he does. These three sound as though they may be persistent, not sure if simply chasing them off is going to be enough.

Hit the nail on the head right there, so many sightings and not a single image of them.
However, as @Tr1x24 deducted in the Lions of Sabi Sands thread , it's possible that it is the 3 Mluwati young males, based on the description of a scar that was seen. As he stated, that is about all we have to go on at this point.

You can see scar on eye on the male in the back, its on the same eye as the one of Mluwati young males had, but we need to see more of the to tell if they are them or not..

Neither Mluwati male had scar going through right eye. Moreover Mluwati males were more developed already while back when their photo was taken.
