RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-23-2016 Quote:who did he have a fight with? One of his brothers, over mating rights, I presume. RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-27-2016 Cheetah Plains: Four of the Birmingham male lion coalition crossed over Cheetah Plains this early this morning - after some tracking, we caught up with these two males in southern torchwood! RE: The Birmingham Males - LionKiss - 01-27-2016 and who is the dominant coalition in cheetah plains so far? RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-28-2016 Quote:and who is the dominant coalition in cheetah plains so far?I think they are, but that territory shares a border with the Majingilane coalition as well, so from time to time they may also be seen there when they go on patrol. RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-28-2016 Chene Wales-Baillie AdventureWild: Terrible quality video! Got this little recording from my phone and the spotlight was my torch!! But this is right now at Nkorho driveway. These 4 boys should be down at the pan sometime tonight. The fifth male is mating with a female not too far away from them. RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-29-2016 Chene Wales-Baillie: My favourite boys - the Birmingham males at our driveway last night! There were actually 4 of them but only two in this shot. Amazing to hear all of them roar together! *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-31-2016 Jors Dannhauser: Lion having a drink at night - This is one of the Birmingham coalitions males in the northern Sabi Sands. The coalition exist of five males. When they initially entered our area they caused big chaos, but seems to have settled down now .. *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: The Birmingham Males - Lionfan97 - 01-31-2016 why can't the Styx coalition join with the magingalines since they are their sons In Masai Mara notch joined with his sons to form a successful coalition Can they not do the same? RE: The Birmingham Males - Pantherinae - 01-31-2016 Hey guy's. Wow Birmingham boys looks incredible. Big heads and muscular bodies, are they from timbawati? Looks like they have some timbawati looks! Timbawati has some great genes that gives large lions! Any info @Majingilane RE: The Birmingham Males - Polar - 01-31-2016 (01-31-2016, 12:04 PM)Pantherinae Wrote: Hey guy's. Any info @Majingilane All lions have larger heads for their size and muscular bodies. I don't think Timbawati lions' physical features should be separated from those of any other lions population. RE: The Birmingham Males - Pantherinae - 01-31-2016 @Polar I have spoken to rangers that said Timbawati had larger lions than Sabi Sands, it's just a small population, it's like in Okavango Delta where some densetis of lions tends to atleast looks bigger. But Timbawati has white lions aswell and they aswell are said to be quite huge, not to mention the heaviest sientific lion weighed where from Timbawati RE: The Birmingham Males - Pckts - 01-31-2016 Welcome back pantherinae RE: The Birmingham Males - Tshokwane - 01-31-2016 Quote:are they from timbawati? Any infoI don't think they were precisely from Timbavati, but from Manyeleti, that is very close to Timbavati, just to the south. On the old CarnivoraForums, I've heard the same about the Timbawati lions being larger than Sabi Sands lions, but both pale in comparison to an Okavango lion's weight. Yes, white lions come from the Timbawati population in Krugerland. I thought the heaviest (not sure if scientific or not) lion was measured in Kenya at 272 kg? Is this true or not? RE: The Birmingham Males - Lionfan97 - 02-03-2016 Are the brimingham males still north near elephant plains or are have they got a pride they are mating with. If so where? |
