'A young Far Eastern leopard, taken out of the wild in the spring due to severe injuries after a collision with a car, continues to restore the Center for the Rehabilitation of Tigers and Other Rare Animals (MPO Center "Tiger") in the Aviary in the Primorsky Territory. Hunting for sika deer.

Recall that a wounded male of the Red Book cat, number Leo 131M, was caught by hunting surveillance at the borders of the Leopard Land National Park on March 3. In serious condition, the animal was taken to the Tiger Center. According to the nature of the injuries, it was found that the predator was injured due to a collision with the car. Many specialists saved the animal from death, and after two months of treatment in May, he was released into an open-air cage with an area of 5 thousand sq. M. By mid-June, the leopard was quite comfortable in the aviary, after which small animals began to be launched to it. The predator showed good skills in hunting rabbits, in connection with which it was decided to release a sika deer in its aviary. It is this ungulate that forms the basis of the diet of Far Eastern leopards in the wild. Leo 131M hit his booty. According to experts, this confirms the view that, before the tragic incident, the young beast already led an independent full-fledged life of a predator.

“To date, the leopard has already hunted two adult deer,”  says Yekaterina Blidchenko, an employee of the science department of the FSBI “Land of the Leopard,” a zoologist at the Rehabilitation Center. “It’s easy for him to catch them in the aviary, despite the lameness remaining. Now all feeding "the predator is carried out with live feed. This allows him to stimulate his physical activity, which is necessary for the effective rehabilitation of the beast."  '

Behind some of the smaller plants to the right side of the trees in the middle, and near the bottom of the picture, but above the fairly light brown ground, I can just make out a small, cat-like head facing the direction of the camera, with the rest of the body going downwards to the right side of the head.
