Hes mating Fig Tree Pride collared lioness Samora. He has also been collared by MPCP. He mostly spends time around Talek River area i was told. Samora was also photo'd mating Olepelos close to this time. *This image is copyright of its original author
RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Mwk85 - 09-04-2024 The 5 subadult males of the Rongai Pride with Olonkera leading the way. They've been spending more time away from the pride as at least two of the Rongai lionesses have had new cubs. Lorkulup, Oloshipa, and Oloimina haven't shown any aggression towards them so perhaps they'll still be able to hang around the area for a bit longer before striking out on their own for good. The Topi Pride has 5 or 6 subadult males as well, so there's certainly going to be a lot of young males looking to stake a claim in the Mara and surrounding areas in the future. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Mwk85 - 09-05-2024 Add 5 more boys to the mix of potential coalitions in the future RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - BA0701 - 09-06-2024 Rob the Ranger said this lioness was fighting with members of the Topi Pride, last night, and she did not make it through the night. No ID is available, as of now, but Rangers are on the scene looking into it. What exactly happened is still up in the air but a claim was made that whatever took place was supposedly witnessed, but that obviously may or may not be accurate. Hopefully more information will become available in the following days. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - BA0701 - 09-06-2024 That would be very tragic if that is the case, more so than it is already. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Mwk85 - 09-08-2024 Official word on the death of Topi Pride subadult Tisha. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - BA0701 - 09-08-2024 At least it wasn't her pridemates who killed her, though I now wonder who they may have clashed with. Tisha was just coming of age, and preparing to help grow the pride. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Duco Ndona - 09-08-2024 Apparently she was found with a large gaping hole. So probably warthog or buffalo RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Mwk85 - 09-09-2024 Her and her grandmother Yaya can't seem to catch a break. Update: Her wounds were treated and the decision was made to move her back into Marsh territory where she'll be monitored, similar to what's taking place with Yaya. The Paradise Pride did a number on her as she has wounds from her chest to flank, both on top and underside. I think it's very likely humans killed her. These Lions having a cow to eat, they are going to need supervision for a while now. RE: Prides of the Masai Mara - Mwk85 - 10-01-2024 Pamoja2 is no more. Her grandmother Yaya is doing better but I haven't seen anything in regards to her brother Simba. Injuries from two separate attacks by the Paradise Pride and a lack of a will to eat for sometime ultimately proved to be too much for her. Them burying her was a surprise considering I only recall that being reportedly done one other time. I wanna say it was the old male Morani that they buried but I could be mistaken on the identity. |
