I'm glad the info served you, I used to have the same preconceptions(prejudices maybe) about male lions. When I put them behind me and started to really learn about them, I was a little pissed off, but anyway that is the past, and now I try to pass the same I learned to others.

Today, the 5th Birmingham male was seen by Wildearth in their Sunrise safari, so there is a good lenght of video to watch of him walking in circles, zigzagging as he appeared to be looking for some other lion/s, possibly the young male of the Nkuhuma pride.
He's found in the 49:03 to 1:22:00 minute and then from  1:24:51 where the presenter finds him again to 1:53:00. In that last bit, you will be able to hear him making the soft contact call used to call for his brothers or a female(at least that's what I understand). Then you will watch him walking alongside of the car, it's absolutely amazing.

There is a lot of lion activity on Cheetah Plains this morning, all 5 Birmingham male lions along with one Nkuhuma lioness are around three in a row pan! Image by Craig Hamilton.

I love to see their darkening manes, soon they will be full grown males, a true threatening force to be reckoned with.

Afternoon
The five Birmingham males and three Styx female lions were on a buffalo kill near Annetes dam. Later that evening a small herd of elephants pushed them off their kill.

12th Jan 
Morning
The Birmingham and Styx lions took down another buffalo around Annettes dam, it was still very fresh they had just started feeding.

The three young cubs were killed. I'm not sure about older females, but I kow that the sub adult male is alive and well, so I guess some of his sisters are as well.

Of course it is only a personnal opinion but I think that the Birmingham male lions are particularly photogenic. Or, perhaps, this is a particular photographer who does particularly well his photographies.

This morning we woke up to one of the Birmingham males on our open area near the pan. As we headed out on game drive he began walking to the west of the pan, in search of one of his brothers.
