They often take short-cuts through the tea/coffee/spice plantations & adjoining settlements instead of the identified forest corridors.
They mostly keep to themselves though...

This gaur has the biggest/longest horns i have ever seen in the wild... from Bandipur reserve, India

I've never seen even a photo of a gaur with any larger horns... just this olfsketch of a specimen.

There should be a few factors taken into account first
One is that the exaggerated shoulder and neck flap in the Gaur gives the impression that their neck is thin

but when viewed from the front you can see just how thick it really is

Where a Cape doesn't have such an exaggerated shoulder and neck which take away from the true neck size

I'd venture to guess that neck dimensions on both are fairly close
