The old five  leeupan/Mantimahle coalition ( Fathers of Majingilane males ) They ruled a huge territory in size of Sabi Sand Game Reserve .

Photos Created By Arno Meintjes .

In Nov 2007 at Mlondozi Dam .

Absolutely enormous territory. Do we know how many prides they controlled, and as a result of having such a massive territory, did it cause them to be separated for a majority of the time?
They have Muntshe pride , and Mantimahle pride and Mazithi pride also some prides there but unfamous like others .

They have 3 sons in muntshe/Nkumbe pride , Mantimahle pride they have  first littils who born between 2004/2005  so the first pride they had Mantimahle pride .

Those boys must have done more traveling than the PCMs, incredible stuff, for sure. Thank you, my friend!

You alwayes welcome my frind , also they have many daughters in many diffrent prides  also thier Granddaughters in Sabi Sands and near by  .

Wow, they actually moved quite away from Timbavati, its not that near Orpen Gate, its on S39/H7 junction, around 20km from Orpen Gate towards Satara.

Thats the reason we had no recent sightings of them, these guys are deep in Kruger.

Can we say that S.bdm was not accepted back by his  northern brothers?

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Ngonya - 11-21-2024

a video from last month (October 17) claiming to be Nkuhlu male and Sand River pride at Lion Sands Kruger
im not entirely if thats Nkuhlu (#3) and Sand River. Honestly the cubs look fairly big and i thought the male could be a Mazithi/Tshokwane but im not sure how far their territory is from the Lion Sands Kruger area

Dont think so, their territory is around Nkhulu, doubt they would travel with cubs that far and thru Nkhulu males territory.

Maybe thats s36 male, or 1 of Biyamitis, with healthy eyes.

Its hard to see, no clear view of the males face.

How's 4v2 = big trouble?? What am I missing??

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - BA0701 - 11-22-2024

Let me start by saying, I really doubt this belongs in the Kruger thread, but not knowing where it does belong, and knowing I wanted to share it, I figured this thread was as good as any other.

Nobody can ever tell me that animals, of any sort, cannot communicate. This young sub male walked into the territory of another pride. Surely a situation just like another we saw recently, but a situation where the sub went into an area controlled by his father, but belonging to a different pride. He gets attacked by four females, who were really giving him the business at the bottom of that scrum, but this young male certainly has spunk, because he was fighting back with everything he had. The big male arrives on scene, and with a simple roar, the attack stops on a dime. The young male then lashes out at the big male, biting him on the face, and the big male still shows restraint and does not attack back. Very interesting scenario, and one that this young male is likely to never forget.

2 of the shishangaan males have health problems, one in a worse situation I don't think he would be in a position to help his brothers maybe just roaring.

So they are in 2/3, really able to fend off rivals, which I believe is enough to deal with these two

South Shishangeni male with his new partner, this perhaps explains his excellent physical condition, he still has firewood to burn
