He's been given the name Xakubasa. From what I could find his name may be in honor of a pride called the 'Xakubasa Pride' that had two white females cubs born back in 2009 at Motswari Private Game Reserve.

Younger lioness from the breakaway group/pride has a rather nasty looking injury on her neck. Stompie and the other lioness have been showing hostility toward her as well.

The nine cubs of the Birmingham pride in the Timbavati riverbed. Still going strong, these nine youngsters have been seen fighting for their share at carcasses and begging for milk on calm afternoons!
The females and cubs are still often moving between Ngala and the Kruger National Park, and nothing beats finding those tiny footprints crossing back on to our side in the morning!

Update on the injured young lioness:
“ Still going strong...
This young lioness sustained a pretty serious injury to her neck. We are not sure exactly what happened but speculation is that she picked it up during the pride's attempt to hunt buffalo that were moving through the area
This was taken about 5 days after. She was still moving and able to drink water, even though there is definitely water leaking from the cut as she drinks, after looking close to death when we first spotted her.
And now at just over a week she has been seen again, still by herself, but alert and moving. Proving alot of us wrong in our predictions.
To take a hit and keep going no matter what, pushing past what the odds predict. This is what we can take from this lioness.

That's impressive that she is still alive and in such good condition. I wonder if she can properly feed with that wound and how exposed the airways and other critical parts are.
I hope she makes a full recovery and re-joins the pride soon.

The Sub Adult was seen rejoining the pride on a kill. The guides feel positive about her bouncing back. This is a huge relief

From what we have seen, that wound looks more like a cut, than a tear, doesn't seem to have bite marks, and I am not sure a claw could do that either, certainly not without seeing other claw marks along side of the main wound. I wonder if this could be another damned snare injury.
If it is in fact a snare injury, the reaction of the other lions to her after the injury is very interesting, given we saw the same sort of reaction to Ncile after his snare injury, and I'd dare say that behavior towards him continues in some way to this day, albeit to a lesser extent..

I was thinking I’d was a warthog injury. Their lower tusks are extremely sharp. Young lioness hasn’t learned the trick to safely take down a warthog and she didn’t get a good bite/grip and the pig sliced her open.
Just a theory.
