RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 11-04-2015 Alright guys, here he is. Jai with the collar.... Credit to: Prashant Warware "After long time Jai Rao Ji k Darshan Huye Near Ranbodi gate 3/11/15" *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author *This image is copyright of its original author The only reason I think we may have overestimated his size is due to his body length. Obviously these photos cant tell the whole story but he looks like a large tiger, obviously. 220kg is a large cat, but his body length doesn't seem exceptional to me. What do you guys think? RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - GuateGojira - 11-04-2015 Jai looks average to me. 220 kg seems reasonable for this specimen. The photo No.6 is the best for comparison. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 11-05-2015 Horrible news if true TIGER ATTACK AT RTR TODAY. UPDATE. Sarosh has confirmed he has heard several similar accounts today too. I have one account by one person an hour ago that Machali has attacked a person today in Ranthambhore. Unverified at this time. Sagnik Sangupta. A RTR guide also reports a tiger attack 2 hours ago at RTR near Kutulpura. @GuateGojira I think we were all shocked because his body is so robust, but having a larger head and chest give you that impression and he does seem to be a tall guy as well, but as we are learning, its the length that usually gives you the mass. But even that being said, he wasn't baited so if he was empty, 220kg empty would still be a large boy in my opinion. RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pantherinae - 11-05-2015 Jai looks large to me, above average for sure. but he's weight might not be as exceptional as neither I or many other here would have thought 220 kg is MASSIVE! don't get me wrong there are bigger tigers than Jai. I have always thought a big Kanha tiger was as large as they got in Central India, but now Ranthambore Tigers weight's are huge. I saw T-24 and thought big Tiger, but not a 240+kg tiger, don't remember what I estimate I wrote here a year ago, think it was like something like my Bamera estimate range, but that's how wrong I was 240 kg!! so I think the 300 kg limit for wild cat's does look more and more unrealistic, but I think it was @GuateGojira who posted a video here some time ago of a hunting video I think it was from Corbett of a massive male tiger they shot and tossed him up on the elephant back, to this day that might be the most impressive sized cat I've seen! and you never know when it comes to these males, they might be astonishing in weight. Also terrible news if true @Pckts thanks for the update! RE: B2 and Other Great Tiger Pics from India - Pckts - 11-05-2015 Could you imagine the uproar that will occur if they remove Machli from the wild? I mean, she should of died long ago if it wasn't for the FD intervention by bringing her food and filling her artificial watering hole. Now if true, she has attacked a man, some will no doubt say it is due to her associating man with food and loosing her fear of them, or her being so accustomed to them that she lost her fear. Others will say she is blind, missing canines and desperate.... Either way, it will be a very interesting time ahead at Ranth.
