RE: Othawa Pride - RookiePundit - 02-04-2025 Well, on the short video posted before, one or two cubs were suckling and the other one was interacting with the other female few meters away (closer to camera) so we don't even know for sure there are just two cubs total, there still might have been one or more outside the picture, but this new video indeed strongly suggest there are just two. Best for Othawas would be 4 female cubs litter (5 is too many to feed at once by one lioness), with a safety net of affording possibly missing some and still succeeding in strengthening the pride but yeah any 100% female litters are best for rebuilding the pride. But ofc if they flourish alot it might a put pressure on Mhangenis and Xhimgunwe depending on the actual numbers in few years Hopefully the prides won't be so bunch up and might shift their territories further from each other a bit (Othawa can't really because the fence ofc). Yes we do know there’s only two. Guides have confirmed. They’re healthy and in good condition. If Mahangeni lions succeed there are four young lionesses. Is interesting seeing a chart of relatives it showed how they may have separated. Older lionesses may distract male lions while younger lionesses leave with other lionesses. Is what happen with Tsalala lionesses. The chart also showed how k2s cub may have separated; maybe he was with K2,s daughter young male lions sisters. I do not remember K2 was one of the lionesses with sub adult daughters that tried coming back with her sub adult daughter? I am bringing up the split, because you mention about lions moving territories. If Mahangenis stay together they maybe hopefully seven. Well folks.. the reason it was pulled down is that it WAS NOT the Othawa's. Apparently the image was the Nharhu lioness.... RE: Othawa Pride - T_Ferguson - 02-05-2025 This is still confirmed to be the Otthawa girls from Monday February 3rd RE: Othawa Pride - sunless - 02-05-2025 (9 hours ago)T_Ferguson Wrote: This is still confirmed to be the Otthawa girls from Monday February 3rd The deleted tweet is from the Nharu Pride and not the Othawa Pride that is why maybe the author of the tweet deleted it. But the video above is confirmed to be the Othawa Pride. RE: Othawa Pride - BA0701 - 02-05-2025 So, did both Othawa gals give birth to a single cub, or is it only one of them who gave birth? In some of the videos, like this one is a perfect example, one cub is feeding from one lioness, and the other is with the other lioness. Correct me if I am wrong but it seems only 1 Othawa female had given birth to 2 or 3 cubs (most probably 3 as seen in earlier video 2 are suckling while 1 is near the other female), while the other Othawa female just started mating few days or weeks ago. That is exactly what I thought, I was just looking for clarification. Thank you, my friend! |
