RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Spalea - 07-29-2016 6 adult male lions... Impressive this "Gomondwane coalition" ! Are they ruling over a megapride ? What is the size of their territory ? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Gamiz - 07-29-2016 @Skybed @Spalea On page #3 of this thread you can read about them. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Skybed - 07-29-2016 yes I remember reading about them somewhere. These pictures were taken in 2011.Thanks @Gamiz for narrowing down my search :) Given that the video was taken on the 20th Sep 2014 and that the Gomondwane coalition was ousted by the Sheshangeni last year, I would presume the cubs were sired by the Gomondwane. I am just guessing btw. Anyways i am really impressed by how dark the manes of each individual are. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Skybed - 07-29-2016 RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Pckts - 07-29-2016 So many dark manes, which one is the most dominate? I think there are only two of them left now, they're already old males. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Ngala - 07-29-2016 From Jock Safari Lodge: "For several months, after the pride takeover of the Eastern Bank male lions, the Stolsnek males were not seen. 2 of the 4 males’ carcasses were found but there was no sign of the other 2 males. A few days ago, 9 young lions form the Gabbro pride killed an adult male giraffe, a short distance from the Lodge. Whilst Rangers & Guests were viewing the feast, 2 huge males ran in from nowhere and chased the youngsters away from the giraffe kill. To everyone’s surprise the males were identified as the 2 remaining Stolsnek males. They are in good condition and we assume that they kept a low profile for several months in a remote part of the Kruger whilst the Eastern Bank Males settled down with the Biyamiti Weir pride. The two males sighted are in reality the two Fourways males. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Ngala - 08-03-2016 Shishangeni males. I had seen some pics of the Blonde male, the older one and the one in this pic, judging by his eyes, seems to be the other one, the son of the Majingilane. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Fareed - 08-07-2016 Can anyone help with all known lion prides and their territories in Kruger National Park? RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - sanjay - 08-08-2016 This is an amazing video sighted at Kruger national park and reported by wild wings safaris. A leopard narrowly escaped the lions. RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Spalea - 08-08-2016 @sanjay: The leopard was very hot ! We could have believed that these lionesses came at a slow pace and invited themselves to eat...
