They need more time but having Mohawk with them is good and bad thing

Edit 2: actually I think the BDM were chasing the NK pride, not males, and in Djuma, but if it was the pride, why chase? The pride have accepted them already.

PCM in Londolozi, Kambulas somewhere in the North, I've no idea what happened anymore.

Despite this being such a sad situation, this comment made me laugh. There’s that many lions realistically we have no clue who were the real culprits unless it was witnessed or there’s outstanding evidence.

Turns 5 in May

Lip Scar and brother, guide says it was the last time he saw them before they crossed to Ottawa where LS was killed, apparently it happened today.

I think PCM are still in Londolozi, not sure. BDM were in Djuma I think, chasing the pride. No idea on Kambulas, last seen on Chitwa Chitwa maybe?

Tough to watch that.

One of the NK females with a bad horn injury to her chest, with her I think it's the almost 3yo NK male:

If not for his balls I wouldn't be able to tell this was a male. It just shows yet again how much quickly the NK Breakaway male sub is developing, as he is almost a year younger than his cousin here but much more well developed.

One guide saying it was Buffalo accident??in the comments

RE: Nkuhuma Pride - KM600 - 03-04-2024

Not in any way saying this is confirmed, but for it to be considered a buffalo injury, there must be a lack of damage elsewhere on his body. Infact I’ve just remembered seeing a post of LipScar with the Nkuhuma Pride that was taken yesterday and now with the video of the Nkuhuma lioness with a deep puncture mark, it does make sense for it to be a buffalo hunt gone wrong.

RE: Nkuhuma Pride - criollo2mil - 03-04-2024

Guys…it’s is uncertain if lions were even involved. I’ve seen pictures of his carcass and have doubts. looks more like he was gored during a bad hunt. His spine was broken. There were small marks on his back but his face is pristine. So it could be lions or those marks were post Mortem.

I wouldn’t keep mentioning, other males as suspects until we even olmos lions were involved. And ATM at least one guide does not believe so.

Seems that the Northern Avocas male offspring have either turned out to be on the bigger or smaller side. Dzwihala, Khanya, Chelas boy, Ridge Nose boy all seem to be massive males but the surviving twin and the 2021 male seem to be on the smaller side. I don’t think Lipscar was a small male but wasn’t as big as his two other brothers so seemed a lil more average in size.

Always wonder with how much adversity these young males going up against, it surely affects their development. Whether this has been scientifically proven or what idk, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Ridge Nose breakaway son has that darkness in his mane already while living a seemingly stress free life before RN died. Obviously genetics plays a part but I believe so does the upbringing.

UPDATE. I WAS SENT MORE IMAGES AND IM 95% percent certain it was a hunt gone badly for the poor boy.

RE: Nkuhuma Pride - Duco Ndona - 03-04-2024

I dont think the two are related. The wound on the lioness looks already pretty clean, meaning it already had time for the wound to close and the blood to be cleaned from her coat.
The boy died reportedly today.

Buffallo also dont just break spines. Sure it can snap when a lion is being trampled by one, but I think that if that happened, it would be reported as being trampled with the spinal damage getting lost in that. Unless perhaps he was still alive at the time of the sighting and seen dragging his lower body or something.

Its also a very lion thing to do, aking them a more likely culprid. And they were openly challenging other coalitions earlier.
Perhaps the BDMs reacted to it, found the guy alone and then retreated back to the spot they were in earlier before his brothers arived?

EDIT: With now information ariving that there was a lot more damage that was previously not mentioned. The buffelo theory is indeed a very realistic possibility. I hope we see some photos soon so we can see for ourselves rather and relying on third parties.

Can't tell if this is a attempt of underestimating BDM or overestimating Mangheni, sounds like both lol.
Any coalition of adult males has more chances than a pride of lionesses of killing a young male of 4/5 years, whether they are Mangheni females or not.

I doubt we'll get confirmation but as i said, any coalition could do it in terms of strength, its more a matter of who was closer or if we'll get evidence of who did it. (IF he was killed by lions)

I think we had all come to the conclusion none of the male groups of the area were in the area.  It was why I asked if that area is fenced, which I believe it is.  I think hunting now seems like the most logical answer.
