Although not looking his best recently, the Hip Scar Male of the Majingilane Male Lions still has the fire in his eyes he has always had.

Three of the Majigilane, old and battle-scarred, make a return visit to Londolozi.
The fourth male, the one with the scar on his hip, is apparently in very poor condition to the west of Londolozi after a suspected confrontation with other lions, possibly even the Matimba males.
Is this the beginning of the end for this brotherhood that has dominated the area for almost 7 years?

Without malice, I questioned them about this, saying that Hip scar's condition was due to him going without a meal for some time and that weakened him, and that also Dulini hadn't said a thing about any fight injury.
They told me this:
Apparently he was badly cut up, and was seen next to a buffalo carcass on which the Matimbas were feeding...
The update we had was from 72 hours ago when he was viewed on Singita. Lions can make quick recoveries if they have a good meal...
At the same time, as it usually happens with people freaking out in social media like children, Dulini got a lot of questions about the Majingilane.
This was their response:
There's been a bit of back and forth debate regarding the status of the Majingilane Male Lions.
Our most recent information coming from our rangers and their colleagues at other lodges indicates that all 4 Majingilane males are accounted for and are doing well. As most are concerned with the status of the 'Hip Scar' male, he seems to be 'stable' as far as his condition is concerned. If we hear of any changes to their status, we'll certainly pass that news along.

About the limp of Golden mane, Dulini said this:
Regarding the male that was/is limping; we don't want to make light of his limp, and have not actually seen him ourselves, but because of the massive impact that goes through their bones, muscles and ligaments when they fight over kills, make kills or fight with other lions, there are often minor injuries that cause seemingly severe limps.
Sometimes lions limp badly, and then if they have to chase something, or have an intense interaction, it's like there is nothing wrong with them.
We think there is still a lot of fight left in the Majingilane males!

Hipscar seems to be deteriorating (since 2015) - see #881, #885 and #902 - he is either ill or badly injured - - lives off scraps and heyenas it seems -
See #882 Which Majingelane male lost his left upper canine ?
These two handicapped males are a serious setback for the Majingelane coalition. I do not think their reign will last till Chrismas.

If these are indeed the Majingilanis in 2015 and the beggar in poor condition is Hipscar then Hipscar has become a spectator who is neither fighting or hunting fit in this coalition - even though his condition has improved somewhat since.

He gets the scraps when he's not strong enough. His brothers aren't going to give him anything for free, neither would he.

I disagree. He was the weakest that time, for sure, but the three were hungry enough to feed off that hyena. It mattered little because he improved after that, and in the latest two videos of the Majingilane hunting, he is seen taking the most active part in it, even being skinny.

The one with the missing canine is Golden mane. He's always been like that, but that hasn't handicapped him a single bit.

Right.
This one isn't Hip scar, it looks like a younger lion from the Kruger although he does seem to have a bad leg.
There's a couple of things you can use to differenciate the two.
1- Hip scar has a scar in the nose that has the shape of a half moon.
2- The top of the mane is much more full than for Hip scar.
