Just for an experiment here. How long was it before we knew Dark Mane Talamati boy was killed, or the other S. Avoca? We will never have proof, but we know they are gone. I feel the same way right now with the Othawa girl. I don't think this is a rumor or speculation thing. You can certainly disagree with me, and that's fine, and since I am not a moderator, I'll stop talking about it, but you get where I am here with this right? Of course, we are open to discussing the matter, but a lot of people read these pages, a lot more than those who comment. It can be easy for a comment made here to be taken out of context somewhere else, and boom, we have rumors quickly spreading, with no evidence that any of it is true. We are called WildFact after all, and though we may get things wrong sometimes, we do our very best to make sure that we are discussing things based on the information we have received. Of course we can speculate, that was mentioned in my comment, when discussing a subject as dynamic as wild animals, speculation comes with the territory, so we can speculate on the possibilities all day long. I just do not want for comments to begin wandering into the realm of conspiracy, or to imply that somehow the reserves are involved in some nefarious way. These girls, who were previously entirely inseparable, one never being seen without the other, so clearly something has happened that caused their separation. How bad is it? Like everyone else, I have no idea, because we are not being told anything by the reserves as to what caused the separation. But, they have told us they have seen the second female on more than one occasion. At this point, with a lack of evidence or proof that anything else is the case, then we have to trust what they are telling us, they are, after all, our eyes on the ground. I understand that we have received less than accurate information in other cases, by numerous reserves, I believe they try their best to bring us accurate information, to do otherwise would be senseless. Regardless of what the full story may be, I do believe we will hear what it is, at some point. I am just as bothered by these events as anyone else, and I hope with everything in me, that both girls are well. When we get the full story, or at least evidence that what we are currently being told is incorrect, for now we have to take them for their word that both girls are alive. I agree that comments like it was dark, so no pictures were possible, doesn't help the situation, when we've all seen countless pictures take at night, with lights and even with night vision. So, sometimes comments like that can serve to cause more confusion, which can then lead to distrust or conspiracy theories, when not provided with the full picture, people will naturally try and fill in the blanks as best they can on their own. So, I am hoping we get some news soon on what exactly has happened, where exactly these girls are located, in relation to each other. As far as the S Avocas, or even the DM Talamati male are concerned, they were both missing for quite some time, before people began to surmise that they had perished. I don't think there is a specific time frame, though. Every case is different, we've all seen situations where missing lions suddenly show up out of the blue. Bottom line is I am just trying to keep the comments out of the realm of implying the reserves are to blame, or at fault in whatever has happened, until we have more evidence/proof of what has occurred. That is all. I was in no way being critical of @Mapokser, or his comments. He has been following these wonderful creatures for a really long time, he knows what he is seeing. I'd really like to see a better image of that wound. RE: Othawa Pride - T_Ferguson - 05-17-2024 Thank you very much for that news. I know it can't and won't happen, and I know precisely why, but I so wish they would get the vets to her, clean up her wound and take her to her sister. But alas.... I've told so many people why they can't do that.... Also, very curious, if this was Savanna Private Game reserve, is she in Savanna? How can they not find each other?!?!?! I’ve agonized for weeks regarding what to believe was going on and what was her status. This is extremely great news indeed. Thank you RE: Othawa Pride - afortich - 05-17-2024 So happy these young ladies are back together. Yessss, Ottawa pride is still in the fight for survival!!! RE: Othawa Pride - Mapokser - 05-17-2024 It's indeed a big relief, I thought I was never gonna see her again. Now that's she been seen alive (thankfully) is there any chance that you'll be able to elaborate more on what you heard from the sources you mentioned in a previous post? If not, it's not a problem just thought I'd ask. RE: Othawa Pride - BA0701 - 05-17-2024 (05-17-2024, 05:02 AM)Mapokser Wrote: It's indeed a big relief, I thought I was never gonna see her again. My friend, that makes two of us, or, more than likely, a few thousand of us. When I saw the post, I swear I heard a huge collective sigh of relief. Now, to just get these girls back together, so that hopefully they will never be parted again. They haven’t yet reunited but they seem to be getting closer and closer together. Hopefully in these next q2-18 hours we get do finally see the reunion RE: Othawa Pride - criollo2mil - 05-17-2024 (05-17-2024, 05:43 AM)Mwk85 Wrote:(05-17-2024, 04:48 AM)criollo2mil Wrote:(05-17-2024, 03:11 AM)Vengeous Wrote: Boy do I have news for you guys... Oh, happy days that'll be. While I am sure she might be somewhat hampered by that injury (we don't know yet how severe it actually is), but with the way these girls play, and jump around with one another, can you imagine how that reunion is going to go? I cannot wait to see it!
