RE: Lions in South-Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia - Gamiz - 10-31-2016

Sad news from Hwange - Jericho has died. He has apparently been sick for a few weeks. So have been trying to find out if natural causes due to that or another Lion...

Cecils pride will be fine. The females are the core strength to the pride & males come & go. When a new male takes over we will all be unsure of the casualties if any but can only hope not. This is Lion life & happens how it's meant. Life of lion in the wild...

"Cecil's cubs had been given a task to finish up the kill, around 7 pm.The Buffalo was killed by Cecil's pride near Somalisa Camp, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. They spent the next two days after feeding then on the fourth day, Bhubesi, the male lion, attacked them and claimed the carcass."

An incredible sighting recently enjoyed in Hwange, Zimbabwe.

The male to the right completely dominated his sub-adult son. The power displayed is simply incredible, and the young prince had no choice but to bow to his dad.

One of the finest lion specimen I have ever seen! This awesome male is 14 this year and has formed a coalition with his son. They reside somewhere in Zimbabwe.

@ Skybed:

About #85: the impressive 14 years old male lion you depicted makes me think about the statue of athletic man in his fifties which have a very bearded face and a very young and strong man's body. Very impressive indeed ! And very atonishing to see how some male lions managed to stay very fit despite the passing of time thank to the alliances and the deep bonds they were able to form with younger males.

Some males seem to have a very "diplomatic" behaviour and, seeing their health in old age, they benefit from that.

@Spalea

regarding post #90. Indeed bro :) it fascinates me especially given that he is a lone male coalition initially. Given such physical attributes, it is hard for any females to resist I guess lol
