RE: Lions of Tanzania (Serengeti, Ngorongoro and others) - Pckts - 04-13-2017 There are 3-4 prides inside the crater, whether they are inbred is another story, they probably are, it's not easy for lions to get to the crater from the Serengeti, they need to travel through some Masai grazing grounds and villages, its also a long journey and the odds aren't in their favor. They real should transolcate a few prides. The crater isn't that large but I was amazed at how close prides live to one another. RE: Lions of Tanzania (Serengeti, Ngorongoro and others) - Gamiz - 05-20-2017 After two days of rain in the Ndutu area of the Serengeti, the sun finally rose. We came across two lions sleeping by a large puddle. Most of the cars parked relatively close to the lions, trying to get a close up shot; we were the only ones to look at the lions from a distance - our bonus was the reflection... Sometimes we need to open our eyes, “zoom out”, and not follow the crowd or the instinct of trying to get as close to the animal as possible – you may add an interesting angle to your shot, and you won’t bother the animal… Have a lovely and peaceful weekend!
