Dreadlocks at Kirkmans Kamp, October 2

RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 10-03-2023

"De La Porte male, was he close to his Nkhulu partners? Great sighting."
Dreadlocks roaring, perhaps calling out to his Nkhulu partners or simply making it clear who is in charge of the south

forgive me for the spam

If she's their half-sister, looks like she abandoned her subs, at least temporarily.  The half-sisters both have subs with the S. Avocas that are barely old enough to survive on their own.  She could be the mom to the last male that got killed by 3/6 Nkhulus and eaten.

Anybody know which lioness was mating a lot with Dreadlocks recently? Was it one of the S. Avoca daughters or a half-sister to his partners?  He is looking thin now with all that mating activity....

Anyone seen the 7th male the youngest one?

Nkhulus in Gijima territory!
2 Nkhulus can be seen in the following images in photos posted on Instagram a few hours ago. They are in Gijima territory
and it appears to be a lioness in control of the duo? (late edit: thankfully, the lioness was from the Sand River pride)

This is not good news at all. Southern Pride, and Styx Pride, are in that area. This is absolutely the last thing those two prides need. I hope they flee, and protect those cubs, the future of both prides rests in them.

RE: Nkhulu males - Mapokser - 10-05-2023

Smudge and Snip Tail are probably fighting over the lioness, I'd bet it's just a coincidence they crossed over Gijima territory.

Now that they are establishing themselves in their first territory and taking over their first pride, they probably won't be expanding. The danger will possibly come only after Nkhulus finish their Avoca takeover.

Though yeah it's not good that they are so close, if it's only 2, I don't doubt Gijimas can handle them even if these are the 2 strongest Nkhukus, problem is that there are many others to their east.

great contribution, thanks for sharing. I was talking to Mapokser yesterday about Smudge and Snip Tail being the most aggressive in Nkhulu Coalition. Smudge and Snip Tail are certainly the most dominant at the moment

MALAMALA GAME RESERVE GAME REPORT - September 2023

Page 7 - OTHER LIONS ENCOUNTERED:
  • The six NKUHLU MALES were encountered twice as they explored further north onto the property. They may have begun to displace the Southern Avoca evils in Charleston, potentially killing one of them. On the 5th, they were north of Charleston Rock. On the 15th and 16th, they were reportedly seen some ways south of the Sand River, south of the Charleston Toulon Boundary. On the 19th, four of they were west of Flat Rocks.
