Just a little update about the clashes....

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - Gabriele - 07-08-2022

The Shishangeni are older and only two, they didn't have to look for a fight with 3 strong lions.

This "clash" is going on for months, and by the past reports, 2 Shishangenis where pushing into Gomondwanes and for Vurhami females.

Usually theres those 3 Gomondwanes down south and with Vurhamis ( Dark Mane/Smudge, Slit Nose and that 3rd male on the video with bloody face) and 2 Shishangenis where coming on top against them. One time even 4th Gomondwane came down south to join his brothers and push Shishangenis back.

Shishangenis might got over confident by previous succes against them, but this time 3 Gomondwanes hold their ground.

Also, there might be another reason, from outside, it looks "ludicrous" why 2 old Shishangenis, heavily outnumbered, are "attacking" such powerful coalition like Gomondwanes, but we dont see the whole "picture".

Shishangenis maybe didnt have other choice, Gomondwanes are pushing west and slowly taking their territory for years now, and from the other side, this past year, 3 powerful s26 males also pushed towards their territory, so i think Shishangenis territory recently shrink quite a bit.

This is approx. what was left from Shishangenis territory, they where pretty much cornered /squeezed in a small territory by larger coalitions :

My theory is that they didn't have a choice, yet to choose which coalition they wanted to fight, as they run out of space..

I hope for them that they have not hurt themselves, or at least not too badly, and can continue to live somewhere, it is sad the decline of old age.

This map is very useful, also for understanding Mo's movements. In a short time he has traveled several kilometers to cross the fences in Malelane, also risking meeting his sworn enemies, the Mjejanes. If he does not find at least one coalition mate I see it very hard for Mo to go on, not so much because it is difficult on his own, but also psychologically the lions just suffer and feel stressed and insecure. Then I suppose that the lioness who accompanied him, was not moved with him so she also lost that companion.

These comments under the video on Yt..a lot of nonsense, for example with the 'usual' confusions about the Shish's Shishangaan, Shishangeni and South Shishangeni coalitions names - everyone misinterpest everything.
By the way, all of my hopes with the 2 old Shishangenis in this clash, because they're very impressive males. So sad that there's such a fight between half-brothers (the offsprings of the old Gomondwane males exterminate each other).

RE: Coalitions of Kruger National Park - BigLion39 - 07-09-2022

I had a feeling that the old boys, 2 Shishangenis, one of them was gonna get caught out there. Hope it wasn't too bad for any of them.

Update on this recent clash:

"Thank you for all the comments and interest in this clash between these 2 mighty coalitions.

A further update is that the 3rd Gomondwane male was seen in good health yesterday and again this morning so it doesn't look good for at least 1 of the Shishangeni males..."

Have both been seen? There was a lot of blood on the Gomondwane males for a slight limp.

BAO 701

That's what I thought, how can he have a slight limp when the opposition had blood around their mouths.
Unless south post at kruger are telling porkies ....

Now I don't know what to think, as this post contradicts the South Post at Kruger post. Though I hope the limp story is true, I will be shocked if it ends up just a slight limp, with two of the 3 Gomondwane having so much of someone's blood on them.
