Do we, by chance, know when this was taken? His new, and recent, eye injury does not seem present, unless this image has been transposed.

The Londolozi blog says 21st July.

Yeah, that makes sense, as that would be before the most recent eye injury. Thank you, for that, my friend!

Well, they are back together again and in the West.

Both PCMs back in the North, which is good as Kambula males are also at EP.

Why is it a good thing that Plains Camp males are in the same area as the Kambulas? (Just curious)

Together the PCMs are untouchable against the Kambulas, separated however, they can be caught. Although that’s unlikely in itself with the Kambula males behaviour but they have been taking advantage of their numbers against recent lone males just recently. Chased off the Kruger male and stole his lionesses, then chased one of the Mantimahles.

RE: Plains Camp males - criollo2mil - 08-26-2024

The PCMs have returned to the Mangheni Pride , chased Tumbela away and joined them on a Buffalo kill. First time they have visited the pride since May.

RE: Plains Camp males - Mapokser - 08-26-2024

I think they were attracted by the big kill rather than a desire to visit, but I'Il take that, better than nothing, it gives some reassurance to the pride that they sort of still have dominant males and shouldn't try to go nomadic.

True, regardless of their reason for returning, the PCMs presence is a net positive for the Mangheni pride.

Appears to be mistitled, as that cub is a female. I understand it isn't your video, it is still a great clip of him interacting with the Mangheni cubs.

Actually, no, I am not sure it these aren't the Xim cubs, I just assumed them to be the Manghenis, given their recently having paid them a visit.
