"The Southern Pride and their cubs were having themselves a restful afternoon yesterday and this morning, the Charleston males were seen again on the move. They have been covering large distances in recent days, possibly patrolling their kingdom or in search of the Pride."

"The Charleston’s, the Southern lionesses and the Mangeni Pride have certainly wowed guests with sightings. In the past it was all about the Sparta pride and Matshapiri males, so it’s great to see these other prides on a more regular basis. And of course, the Southern Pride lionesses have a bit of exciting news…There have delivered two new cubs into the Sabi Sand!
It’s endearing to watch tawny bundles of lion cub fluff blunder about trying to establish themselves within their pride. The Southern Pride lionesses have two new cubs sired by the Charleston boys.The cubs are doing well and guests were elated to witness their playful antics in the wild. The Charleston male lions are absolute warriors and one of the males is easily recognisable by his decaying, straggling tooth which hangs from the side of his jowls.

Guests at Umkumbe have been incredibly lucky with the sightings of the two roguish Charleston boys, their cubs and the southern lionesses."

Maybe I missed it but how did he get his tooth knocked out? Was it from a fight or a Zebra kick?

I don't think they know for sure.

But that time they had hunted a giraffe, so maybe he got it from a kick to the jaw. At the same time, they had a fight with the Fourways males, so that's also a possibility.

But I'm more for the giraffe kick.

if his jaw is unharmed then he can surely his missing canine will not affect him. I hope he gets some help from the vets. He needs his canine removed and have some stitches.

"The Southern Pride and Charleston males were on another buffalo kill yesterday, so we spent some time with them in the afternoon. There was some great interaction between members in the Pride as well as some fireworks between the Charlestons."

"Yesterday afternoon we watched one of the Charleston males slowly become active. We watched him drink before he moved off into the night in search of his brother."

"After tracking the lions down on foot, we realised it was inaccessible with a vehicle. As the sun went down they ventured out from the rocks and made their way through the reserve looking very hungry!
After waking up to the sound of lions vocalising, the Sabi Sabi Selati guests were treated to the lioness` and cubs of the Southern Pride walking in front of the lodge while enjoying morning tea.
At the end of drive, one of the Charleston males was found following the scent of the females, and stopped at the waterhole in front of Selati Camp for a quick drink."

"Pure luck. We were observing the mating behavior between these two lions around mid-morning when they decided to head to a nearby waterhole for a drink. The light was pretty nice considering and they positioned themselves nicely for us too. I produced a panoramic image to create a little more space to it as well."

his gum has been deformed
this is very dangerous for his health,
he needs an operation to have the canine removed and several stitches to bring the gum back to it normal shape.

but the vets will do nothing, it is pity because this can cost him his life
