Rongai pride with Lorkulup. In an update to my previous post, it does appear that the pride did indeed lose one of the cubs. Exact cause is unknown at the moment and more than likely won't ever be known, unfortunately. Hopefully the vast majority of the remaining ten (10) cubs make it.

One injury is said to be an injury to the tail and the other is said to be an eye injury of some degree. Will update when more information is shared.

There is/was already a Rongai small cub in the past few months/weeks that had a very cute short-tail since her/his very young age, probably borned like this. He/She even became a star for a while with that.

Rongai pride with Lorkulup and the sub adult male trying their hands at a buffalo hunt. Buffalo herd rallied thus ending the hunt.

Fig Tree Pride sighting with all members two (2) lionesses and six (6) cubs together. Previous sighting had only one (1) lioness present.

Rongai young male playing with the Rongai cubs. Great to see that the pride females aren't being aggressive with him like they had been.

Update on the Marsh Pride is available in the shared link. Halftail still isn't with the pride, Bila Shaka males have been hanging in the area, and to make matters worse, a young male within the pride was seen mating with one of females. Lioness Rembo, and her two sons are still unaccounted for as well. Not sure what happened with them.

Update on the Fig Tree Pride is available in the shared link. Both lionesses and six cubs are doing well and they've picked up two additional lions for the moment at least. 1 unkown young male and 1 unknown young female are seen following the pride at a bit of a distance but the pride doesn't seem hostile towards them as they all shared a shaded area. Unknown young female is said to have some injuries on her back, possibly from when they first encountered one another. Unknown young male is injury free.

A male lion coalition crossing a crocodile infected river. The first male, the black-maned one, seemingly leading the two others

The mara river is full of massive nile crocodiles that can be up to 17 feet long and can weigh up to 600kg. Every animal that crosses this river is very cautious of this massive reptiles, even the king of the jungle.

Great updates, thank you!

Halftail was rescently filmed alone in Mara North in great condition without the Marsh Pride.

Rembo and her 2 young male subs are still missing. Its been over 1 month now, if im not mistaken.

So for 3 fully grown lions to just disappear like that, IMHO, only leads me to believe 1 situation. Need more time tho to see if they pop up.

Marsh pride has seen way too much HWC in their lifetime.

Having been during a very long time a solitary male, it was almost,on its own, a pride... Thus here, RIP !

Recent sighting of the Fig Tree Pride. Two lionesses, six younger "cubs" and two subs the pride has essentially adopted. Orgin of the two subs may not be known or I just haven't seen anything in regards to their orgin.

An other tribute:

" This educational video covers the amazing story of Jesse The Lion who's considered as the most iconic nomadic male lion of all time. "

Those 2 subs hopefully, should be from Olope and Olbarikoi. They are unrelated to those lionesses and its great that they have been accepted. They have been photo'd many times in the past hanging close by the pride. Thats my speculation and hope, not sure if its actually true, ill have to follow up.  Either way its great to see that the whole pride and offspring are good and healthy.
