In SRiver you got one sub adult female who is 4 years and one month and an adult female who is 4 years and eight months
At what month she is no longer a sub adult ?
My question is kinda joking but Im curious if theres really an age or is just whatever
Hahaha
i think MalaMala uses:
4 years 4 months or less = sub adult
4 years 5 months or more = adult

each lion grows at its own pace but i think that usually 4,5 can already be considered young adult

RE: Nkhulu males - Duco Ndona - 10-07-2024

Thats a rather old age, seeing we have have seen lions mate at much younger ages.

It would make more sense to look at the dynamics of the pride itself. Are the young lions acting or treated like adults or cubs, are any male littermates forced into independence yet and have any signs of estrus been observed?

Lions are considered adults at 4yo, but of course some mature faster, others slower.

2 Nkuhlu males (#3 & #6) at Kirkman's Kamp
these two are the skinniest among the most pictured five, and yet they are both looking fine. Great comeback of the coalition so far

unfortunately this yt channel insisting on the awful behavior of refusing to share the credits to the original author, a shame to have to use such. I
'll try to find the original but dont guarantee anything

RE: Nkhulu males - Ngonya - 10-15-2024

4 months since the lastest picture on the Nkuhlu male #4 was posted, June 15, #483 / #643
All the other brothers constantly and often seen and pictured. In quite a significant amount of occasions, as a group of five.
Meanwhile no picture on Nkuhlu male #4 for 4 months now. Still the guides say all six brothers are accounted for, so who am i to disagree lol? Lets hope we'll soon get pictures on him or at least a confirmation about anything.
If anyone has anything it would be good to know!
