In the nice warm afternoon light, these four male lions were lazing about in an open area, only lifting their heads when an unsuspecting herd of impala moved into earshot. The herd soon saw the wandering eyes and let out a few alarm calls to let the lions know they had been spotted too.

4 N'waswitshaka Males at Umkumbe Safari Lodge on 19/07/2021
It's beautiful to see all of these 4 males staying together almost all the time, like a strong bond between them.

Gore. He looks great. It's not often that we get to see pictures of him. 

Umkumbe River Lodge, picture taken today, 21 July. 
This beautiful boy is usually seen with the lone Southern female these days. Guarding her and protecting N'waswitshaka cubs.

Yeah, if this is Gore, he looks awesome. I thought he is much more blonde, not anymore looks like, he is thriving.

Those cubs are most likely 4 Nwaswitshakas and their siblings.
