Totally agree on everything you said!  Also because it's basically cut off these lions have been inbreeding for decades.  Its actually not a good situation in the Crater.

I just looked at a GPS map of prides in the area and 1 pride have been traveling into the creator rescently.

Oof! Says it happened in Serengeti, but this is a mistake I'd bet this male won't be making again. He'll likely be much more cautious when approaching a pride in the future.

I fixed your post, the video says the channel owner does not permit the sharing of his videos on other sites, so I just added the link instead. Four big boys, for sure!

I wonder if they found his corpse, early on, and will be able to get some tests run.

The Saba Bora coalition split: WASAFI BOYS
by Tariq Said Sarico

"Well, it’s officially the three boys from the Saba Bora have separated from the rest of the boys and now they’ve taken over Maasai Kopjes, Boma kopjes and the surrounding.
I decidedto name these boys as WASAFI BOYS, it’s a Kiswahili name which means “SO CLEAN” because they’re so pretty and clean,  look at their face and the entire body, no scars, no scary face like Scarnose and the rest, so for me WASAFI BOYS fits them.
I spent the whole day with them today, monitoring them and the relationship between them and the females from this pride, the females seems to love them, and two females have 4 cubs around here but they haven’t killed them yet and I am sure the cubs are not theirs even though they’ve been with the pregnant females since then, curious to see what will happen.
The first two photos is the first boy looks like KIDUKU cause he also has that mohawk style, the second two photos and the last two photos those are another boys, aren’t they pretty and clean?"

Not that I'm aware of, none of the 5 had names. They kept them
LK115, LK116, LK117, LK120, LK123.   Tanzania really doesn't name the lions except for a few like Bob Jr, his brothers and father and maybe a few others. They name some males in the Crator although I'm not aware if they are "official" names. Tariq names the 7 Saba Bora boys after they killed Bob jr.

LK123 died in June 2024.
