RE: The Charleston Males - Cath2020 - 12-18-2020

I learned a bit more about the Charleston Males.

Anybody know where the lioness is that raised the two males?  Is she their aunt like it was mentioned?  Did she ever raise her own cubs to build back the pride?

They were in impressive duo that survived against the odds.

Yeah, The two Charleston males were raised by his aunt. She was a true warrior!

"Anybody know where the lioness is that raised the two males?

She is dead.

"  Is she their aunt like it was mentioned? "

Yes.

" Did she ever raise her own cubs to build back the pride?"

She raised two of the to sub adulthood, but unfortunetly they did not make it far after Charleson lionesses passed away.

Btw yet regarding to that video, Charleston male never has been snared. After he was reported to be with a snare vets found him, but after closer inspection it turned out to be purpucine spike, not a snare. Also Charlestons killed KNP male before then took over Salati pride, not after as it is shown in the video.

@Cath2020 We could also say that she raised Hildas Rock Male aswell.. She accepted him after he lost his mother/pride in early 2016 as a 2.5 - 3 yrs old male.. HRM would have hard time to survive without Aunty Charleston.. She disapeared in early 2017.

Her 2 sons continue to hang with HRM, but 1 died to snare in September 2017, other continue to hang a bit more with HRM and later on was seen with Southern Pride in early 2018, but he eventualy disapeared..

I do not think she can recive credit for raise HRM. He might have hard time to survive on his own indeed, but that isn't same think as raising him.

Hard disagree, he was young, desparete young lion who just lost his mother, without her he most likely wouldn't make it..

She doesnt have all the credit, but she definitely have.

The Charlston Males with the female that cares for them, (can't remember if it was mother or aunt) before they became the dominant force in the southern sector of the Sabi Sands. What a privilege to watch them fight tooth and claw, for their chance at the top.

What a good looking young male! The Charleston bloodline is something else.
This boy is a spitting image of his dad
