RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - Potato - 08-28-2021

21 members of the Birmingham pride (excluding the young Birmingham male) and the two Ross males have been hanging around together for the last week and a half on Ngala. With a pride this size, big prey has to be taken down fairly recently and it seems they’ve taken a liking to Buffalo.

Thanks for the correction. I read that he and his brother ran away, rather than defending their cubs from the Mbiri males. Still waiting to find out which one of those cubs has perished.

Unfortunately, Ngala rangers not were around when the Mbiri males arrived at first time at the Buffalo carcass, Rangers told me that the Ross males runned west, they were roaring not long before, so, they should be around. Hopefully, they'll update us much better soon.

It doesn't look good for them. If they fled now they are unlikely to stand up to them later should the Mbiri decide to take over.

RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - Tr1x24 - 08-31-2021

Thats purely speculation of rangers, nobody seen Ross males there to confirm 100%..so lets not make conclusions of something we dont know.

Update: I have received a confirmation from Du Plessis that one of the youngest cubs, a male, was killed.

Birmingham sub-adults males. Now since BYM has left the pride, these beautiful boys are likely to leave together along with other sub-adult male and form a coalition.

Well, there is one more sub-adult male in the pride, not sure why plural was used. The next oldest after the three is surely still too young and will be for a while.

The Birmingham breakway pride has oldest females born in 2006 and lionesses born around 2010/2011. Stompie/Tailess was born around 2010/11. She's sister of the Birmingham boys for example

RE: Birmingham Pride of lions - T I N O - 09-01-2021

Mbiri males update: We found the younger male yesterday morning still on ngala but close to the Easter boundary with Kruger. Tracks of the older kept going west. Strong boys those two. Scrappers
